Rather than accept last Saturday’s Glasgow Derby result as a welcome consolation prize it seems to some that a dead-rubber has altered the outcome of the season.
Led by Eilidh Barbour on Sky Sports and the SPFL Twitter account it is now the accepted wisdom of some that the mystical Bragging Rights Trophy is sitting in the Blue Room alongside the Loving Cup, 2016 Petrofac Cup (replica) and the cherished St Etienne bike.
An extension of the delusion is the status bestowed to serial loser James Tavernier, a man so weak he once wrote a programme column explaining to supporters why him and his team-makes buckle under expectations. The programme was for a match that Hamilton Accies won at Ibrox.
Kyogo 79 appearances 4 Winners Medals. So far……..
Tavernier 400 appearances 2 Winners Medals.

In February at Hampden while Tav was delivering his traditional apology speech Kyogo Furuhashi was picking up another League Cup winners medal and scoring the critical goals in Glasgow Derbies.
As the former Wigan man looked on helplessly Kyogo scored an 87th minute equaliser at Ibrox, bagged the double that won the Viaplay Cup then opened the scoring in last month’s decisive SPFL clash between the two Glasgow clubs.
With a contract extension secured at the start of this season Tavernier is sure of his place in next season’s Revolution- after watching Celtic winning 17 of the 23 trophies on offer since he joined the Warburton Revolution.
