Lisboa holds a timeless appeal to Celtic fans of all ages, especially in the final week of May.
Fifty-six years ago the stragglers were being rounded up for departure although legend has it a few visitors decided to settle down and make the Portuguese capital their new home.
That trip in 1967 was the first foreign venture for many of the 12,000 travelling support, passports were a new concept with only a select few having got further than Blackpool on their holidays.

In the heartland of Benfica and SCP, under the baking sun a couple of Irish pubs tuned into the action from Glasgow with visitors ensuring that they enjoyed their slice of the celebrations.
Afterwards the only thing for it is to do The Huddle- and what better place for it than in the heat of Lisbon.
No doubt there will be a few visitors on town hoping for similar celebrations next week after watching the Scottish Cup Final.
