With Josh Clarke taking most of the headlines from last night’s Glasgow Cup Final the contribution of Adam Brooks could be overlooked.

Saving four penalties out of seven is an outstanding achievement at any level, in a cup final against a city rival it is even more impressive.

Before Clarke stepped upto the mark there was a 36 minute golden spell to encourage all Celtic fans with the stamp of Ange Postecoglou all over the way that Celtic played.

Highlighting that is the second goal in the 32nd minute. Rocco Vata beat his man on the right flank, raced forward, Brooks pealed off his marker to create space then instinctively crashed an unstoppable shot high into the net.

It could easily have been Liel Abada and Kyogo Furuhashi involved such was the quality and simplicity.

Vata and Brooks have now had two seasons of playing in the Lowland League, an immediate step up to the first team squad seems unrealistic making the choices for next season vital to the development of a clearly talented group of players.

Celtic:- Josh Clarke; Ben McPherson, Bosun Lawal, Mitchell Robertson (Dylan Corr HT), Matthew Anderson; Macknzie Carse; Tsoanelo Letsosa, Ben Summers; Rocco Vata (Bruno Davidson 73 Mins), Adam Brooks (Danny Kelly 84 Mins), Magnus Mackenzie (Corey Thomson 66 Mins).

Not Used:- Joe Morrison (Gk), Kyle Ure, Ben Quinn.
