Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Spurs will hold talks with Ange Postecoglou early next week.

Over the last eight days there has been intensive speculation that the Celtic boss is a target for the London club who sacked Antonio Conte more than two months ago.

Arne Slot was thought to be in the thoughts of Spurs but once he signed a new improved contract with Feyenoord attention switched to Postecoglou.

Based on the traditional contempt that most EPL fans have for the Scottish game someone who has managed Spain and Barcelona would be an easier sell to Spurs fans than a guy from Celtic, Australia and Yokohama F Marinos.

Yesterday Postecoglou sailed through two stints of media interrogation without giving anything away, insisting that his full attention is on Saturday’s Scottish Cup Final at Hampden.

The Celtic boss will be scheduled for more intensive media questioning at tomorrow’s match- after that he will have no more obligatory conferences.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.

If he talks to Spurs, he’s off.
There’s no sense in talks if there’s no intent or interest.
If he does talk, he must go.
I will have no ill will towards Ange at all if he goes, but if he goes and listens to Spurs, he needs to go, just like players who have their head turned, once that happens, the spark is gone.
