Celtic fans appear to be coming round to the idea of Brendan Rodgers returning as manager.

With a very trusted source at the Daily Mail reporting that Michael Nicholson and Chris McKay visited Mallorca at the weekend for talks there is no doubt that the former Leicester City boss is a very genuine contender to replace Ange Postecoglou.

There is no doubt that there are some serious obstacles and issues to overcome but over the course of the last week it seems that many supporters are coming around to the view that Rodgers is the best option.

That may have something to do with the other options most quoted. Enzo Maresca may in time be an outstanding manager but after a brief stint with Parma in Serie B fans are very wary of giving him his second chance at Celtic.

Kjetil Knutsen has plenty of admirers among the Celtic support but with so much success at Bodo Glimt it seems strange that he is still with the Norwegian club. At the age of 54 his CV consists of five years in charge of Bodo.

This poll was launched a week ago, Knutsen has been the clear favourite throughout.

Who do you want as the next Celtic manger?

After last night’s Daily Mail story things have clearly moved forward towards a Rodgers appointment, launched this morning it appears that a significant number of fans are ready to accept his return with lessons learned from all sides.

Knutsen? Would that be because Mjalby voted for him? Probably!
Don’t forget Mjalby quit Celtic. Didn’t he?

I thought Knutsen was staying on until end of season then off to Ajax ?

The headline should be “Some Celtic Fans”, Joe. I can’t believe that Rodger$ is really garnering the support he seems to have. Will he have Mo Johnston as his assistant?
