Celtic fans can brace themselves in for a period in intense speculation over who will succeed Ange Postecoglou.
The build up to Neil Lennon’s removal in February 2021 was frenetic followed by a 106 day wait until a burly Australian arrived and took the club off in a direction that few could have guessed at.
Crucially Postecoglou came from the City Football Group, Yokohama branch, with much of the speculation this time around looking inside the CFG for the next hoops manager.
Kevin Muscat succeeded Postecoglou at Yokohama, his spell across the city was brief and 20 years ago but would cast a shadow over him even though his management style appears to be the complete opposite to his reputation as a player.

The CFG stretches into India with Des Buckingham heading things up at Mumbai City where the 38-year-old has just won the league title.
After a low key career as a goalkeeper at Oxford and Reading he turned to coaching, building up a career in Australia and New Zealand.
His Glasgow Airport appearances could be entirely coincidental, or he could be having face to face talks about a future role at Celtic as part of an overdue succession plan.

I know a lot of people will be a bit suspicious of the CFG connection again but this would represent some thinking outside the box instead of the same old tired suggestions. As I said yesterday, if Moyes is on the alleged shortlist then why not Keane as well?
