Reo Hatate’s agent is reported to have told an Egyptian based reporter that the midfielder will continue in Europe.

Late on Monday night reports appeared linking the Celtic midfielder with a move to Al Ittihad.

The Saudi League is in the middle of a massive recruitment drive that could have a major impact across Europe as a new power emerges offering players breathtaking, tax free salaries.

Hatate hit the ground running in Scotland after moving to Celtic in January 2022 and made a massive contribution to the recently completed domestic treble.

There are still three years left on Hatate’s Celtic contract but a massive Saudi offer would test the resolve of the club and player.

Translates to: Reo Hatate’s agent told me in private statements about the fact that the player is close to joining Al-Ittihad, saying: “Rio will continue in Europe, and there are no chances to transfer him to the Saudi League.

On Linkedin Ahmed Ragab describes himself as a Senior Sports Executive with Cairo-based Arquam FC, on Twitter he has over 17,000 followers wile following just 256 accounts. He has previous experience as both a reporter and editor.

While Celtic fans will be pleased that Hatate isn’t on his way to Saudi Arabia the mention of Europe from his agent does leave the door open for a move out of Celtic.
