Odin Thiago Holm is reported to be undergoing a medical in London today ahead of his expected move to Celtic.

Norwegian website Nettavisen has been out in front with this story and seem to be 100% convinced with reporter Stian Andre de Wahl providing an update on Twitter this morning.

While most attention has been on the appointment of Brendan Rodgers as manager the Transfer Window has opened with Holm falling into that awkward handover category of being initiated while one manager is in place and completed with a new boss in place.

Translation: Medical test for Odin Thiago Holm today. It is carried out in London for practical reasons. He is sold from Vålerenga to Celtic if he passes this.

At a reported fee of around £2.3m Holm will be expected to challenge for a first team place, an area of the park that Celtic are currently well covered in.

With Callum McGregor and Reo Hatate virtually certain to play whenever fit others such as Matt O’Riley, Aaron Mooy, Tomoki Iwata and David Turnbull are competing for one place.

Holm is in mid-season at Valerenga with the 2024 campaign starting in April.

Hi Joe , I’m sure his stats would have been compiled and approved by the previous manager then run over and sanctioned by the new manager .

On CNQ they’re running a story about how much Callum McG is being used , which is true as always , but he is getting to the age where he needs better time / game management , let’s hope this new kid is of a similar playing style or adaptable to what we will play .

Though I can’t help but think it’s a Lawwell – esque piece , a pre warning to the support that if any long term ( 12 games last season ?)injury occurs , it might be the fault of the new manager … just getting a bit of tactical retaliation in there first .. ?
