Even before he had joined Celtic Larry Henry Jr was delivering very accurate updates on Cameron Carter-Vickers.

It took until the final day of the summer 2021 window for the defender to join Celtic, he then finished the season with two winners medals and never lost domestically over 90 minutes.

Hendry Jr was on the ball when it came to converting the loan deal into a permanent move- when he tweets you can almost set your watch on what happens next.

Henry Jr is the editor of SBI Soccer.

Carter-Vickers hasn’t played for Celtic since an inspired display in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup at Hampden in April.

His commanding performance became even more impressive when Ange Postecoglou announced after the final whistle that it was season over for the former Spurs man with knee surgery all booked up.

It is something of an understatement to say that the Celtic defence is unrecognisable without Carter-Vickers.

Going by today’s tweet the USA internationalists could have some involvement in the two remaining pre-season friendlies, against Spurs and Club Athletic of Bilbao.

That sort of timetable, and the expected signing of Maik Nawrocki will give new shape to the side that Brendan Rodgers is putting together- and ease concerns over the early SPFL fixtures at Pittodrie and Ibrox.

We need to start to take notice of their signings as we could be taking our eye off the ball here and get caught sleepwalking into a disaster and a trap.
Be careful what you wish for here as we could be walking about with a sore arse within the first 4 games of the new season starting.
