Celtic’s B side played their first match of the season yesterday, drawing 0-0 away to Fraserburgh then winning 5-3 on penalties to take the VT Wealth Cup.
The match was a delayed memorial to the Fund Raiser between the clubs in 1970 when Jock Stein took his side to the fishing town to raise funds after six members of the RNLI service were lost at sea.
Darren O’Dea and Stephen McManus were in charge of the Celtic side, making 11 changes at half-time to keep everyone involved with Daniel Kelly captaining the team in the first half with Matthew Anderson wearing the armband after the break.

Sligo Rovers will host the young Celts on July 11 with the competitive action starting away to Cumbernauld Colts on July 22.
Virtually the same squad will be involved in the u-19 UEFA Youth League during the autumn where they will face the same opponents as Brendan Rodgers squad in the Champions League.

A good cause in true Celtic (and Highland) tradition and hopefully they got a decent attendance and good funds raised on the day…
I also wish Celtic would’ve played Clachnacuddin whilst up here as I’d have gone to it – One half in The Main Stand (capacity 154) and the other with a hip flask in The ‘Wineshed’ (That’s The Clachnacuddin equivalent of The ‘Jungle’ ) !!!
