Tobi Oluwayemi and Matthew Anderson are expected to complete loan deals to Admira Wacker.

It seems that talks over a partnership between the two clubs have come to fruition with the young Celts set for a season in the Austrian Second Division rather than the Lowland League.

Oluwayemi had a brief spell on loan at Cork City earlier this year but this will be the first time that Matthews has been out on loan.

The Daily Record reports:

Celtic youngsters Toby Oluwayemi and Matthew Anderson are set to join Admira Wacker on loan.

The young keeper and left-back travelled to Austria today to finalise their season-long loans.

Oluwayemi and Anderson will move to the Austrian second tier to get vital first-team experience.

The pair both played regularly in the Celtic B team and they feel this is the next stage in their development. Celtic formed a partnership with Admira earlier this year.

The nine times Austrian champions hope that their link up with Celtic will help both parties.

It can help them win promotion back to the Australian Bundesliga but also give some of Celtic’s young emerging talent some overseas exposure.

If successful it is likely that more players will go out on loan in January as Celtic try to find a solution to bridging the gap between Academy football and the first team.

Rocco Vata and Ben Summers made a handful of substitute appearances for Ange Postecoglou last season but have their work cut out to force their way into a first team squad that consists of over 20 players. Neither Summers or Vata were among the substitutes at the Scottish Cup Final last month.

With wingers Marco Tilio and Yang Hyun-jun added to the first team squad chances will be limited with the club deciding whether they should take a more conventional loan or perhaps join up with Oluwayemi and Anderson in Austria.

A few young players should stay with the first squad for a season and get game time when appropriate.
That’d be their best chance of making the step-up.
