Celtic are in line for a minor cash boost with Connor Hazard a transfer target for Plymouth Argyle.

The keeper has only made seven appearances for Celtic but is is reported that the Championship side are ready to pay a six figure fee with add-ons to sign the Irish internationalist.

Hazard was called in from the cold in December 2020 for his Celtic debut by Neil Lennon after he had lost faith with Vasilis Barkas and Scott Bain.

Within a dramatic seven week period he made his debut in a Europa League match, saved two penalties in a dramatic Scottish Cup triumph, was dropped for Barkas then recalled for two matches following the doomed training trip to Dubai.

Hazard last played for Celtic in a 0-0 home draw with Livingston on 16th January 2021 but the Daily Record reports:

Plymouth are closing in on a six-figure deal to sign Conor Hazard.

The newly-promoted English Championship outfit have agreed a fee, with future add-ons, with Celtic. The Northern Irish international is keen to kick on with his career and to get regular first-team football.

The 25-year-old has come through the Celtic academy and has been at the club for nine years. Joe Hart, Scott Bain and Ben SiegriSiegrist are all ahead of him for the gloves at Celtic. Hazard was a final hero when Celtic lifted the 2019-20 Scottish Cup.

In March 2021 Celtic announced that Hazard had signed a new contract keeping him at the club ‘until at least the summer of 2023’ it seems like the club has activated a 12 month option on that contract which means that Plymouth will have to pay a transfer fee.

The keeper had a successful loan spell in 2022 at HJK Helisinki but returned to find himself fourth choice under Ange Postecoglou.

After nine seasons at Celtic Hazard will leave with a variety of memories but will forever be associated with his key role in clinching the Quadruple Treble.
