Brendan Rodgers has given his first one-to-one interview since returning to manage Celtic.

Since taking over from Ange Postecoglou then Irishman has kept a very low profile in the media other than the occasional in-house interview with Celtic’s media team.

In the build up to Saturday’s friendly against Wolves there was no pre-match media conference although he did reflect on the match and the injury situation in a couple of post match interviews

4 minutes transfer talk

We want to improve the squad, I think that everyone looks and thinks that we might be bringing in a £15-20m player, the reality is that won’t be the case. It’s not what the club is based on.

There has been some speculation among supporters that the club’s £9m transfer record could be broken this window but Rodgers was very clear about steering away from that level of expectation.

Odsonne Edouard commanded that fee five years ago from Paris Saint Germain but it looks more likely that spending in line with last summer when £6.5m was spent on securing Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota after successful seasons on loan

Get the money out and get Livakovic you tight b*stards

Agreed. I keep saying this. We NEED another ‘keeper (Livakovic preferably) more than ANY other position and we can afford him. FFS Celtic, at least put a decent bid in, around £7-8 milion and see how it goes from there. We could put it ALL up front and probably get rid of opposition by doing so. It also tells the player we’re serious about bringing him to Paradise.
He’s likely to be catholic born and “Paradise” may well be on his bucket list 🙂

So, BR is also saying that a player of a value UP TO £15M ‘could’ be on his radar?

If we can’t buy a decent keeper for that amount,

then bring in a decent EPL-level keeper on loan, like we did with Forster?

Great to see Brendan back. Hopefully the old dinosaurs on the board will back him. Unfortunately finishing a nose in front of the huns is about the height of their ambition. We deserve so much better.
