Watch how Kyogo lit up Dublin with his goal against Wolves

Kyogo Furuhashi was the Celtic goalscorer in the 1-1 draw with Wolves at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin today.

Last season’s top scorer showed his instinctive ability around goal after just five minutes to smash the ball into the net from 15 yards after Liel Abada has laid the ball back.

There was plenty of movement and invention about Celtic’s attacking play as they pushed Wolves at every opportunity although there were a few shaky moments at that back where Stephen Welsh and Liam Scales were paired together with Tomoki Iwata playing at right-back.

Kyogo seemed to suffer from cramp on the hour mark with Yang Hyun-jun sent on for his Celtic debut and Daizen Maeda switching to the central striker role.

After 70 minutes the substitutions started to mount up with Hyeokkyu Kwon getting his first appearance in the centre of the park.

With five minutes left to play Wolves were awarded the softest of penalties when Matt Doherty tumbled after knocking the ball beyond Joe Hart with no angle on goal.

Cameron Carter-Vickers and Maik Nawrocki’s absence was expected but with Carl Starfelt also missing there are questions about the centre of defence one week before the competitive action gets underway at home to Ross County.

CELTIC: Hart, Iwata, Welsh (McPherson 67), Scales, Taylor, McGregor, O’Riley (Kwon 60), Hatate (Holm 70), Abada (Haksabanovic 70), Maeda (Oh 70), Kyogo (Yang 60).

Subs: Bain, Siegrist, Turnbull, Bernabei, Lawal, Forrest.

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS: Jose Sa, Lemina (Silva 79), Neto (Hwang 70), Cunha, Dawson (Esen 70), Bueno Lopez (Ait-Nouri 46), Sarabia (T. Gomes 70), Sememdo (Doherty 79), Kilman, Nunes, Hodge.

Subs: Traore, Gomes, Kalajdzic, Castro Otto, Bentley, King, Fraser, Pond, Farmer.

Going off topic here but apparently the sevco klan had been BANG OUT OF ORDER today and that’s coming from the klan members themselves.
Apparently the song book of choice was SHAMEFUL and there are some who pointed out should they attempt to sing these songs on European nights home or away then they reckon the European football bodies could close the ibrox stadium for games or possibly ban sevco supporters from away games.
Now just how bad was that singing today for the klans own fans to call it out,not good.
Now let’s see if the shitebags in the Scottish press call it out,you would have a better chance of a rocking horse doing a shit or even seeing Lord Lucan before they call the klan klub out.

Lol at Geordieger on FF apparently his team have had a great pre-season and are on their way to winning the league without losing a game,oh and you can also throw in the Scottish and League cups as well.
That must be some seriously strong stuff he is smoking and drinking.

  • Scud Missile says:

The daily sevco with a minute by minute report on their game today without a mention of the inappropriate behaviour of the klan fans songbook of choice.

    • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Not that I’d ever look at it or read it these days Scud – But quelle surprise at that scenario…

At least we all got to celebrate the death of Rangers – Now just for The Daily Record to follow and life will be good !

It was a decent work-out today though some of Wolves play was OTT, dirty bassas and their penalty was a FN joke. Big Joe never touched the twat and he just dropped when he was going nowhere anyway; and I think Doherty’s a Tim.
Kyogo’s goal beautifully taken and so unlucky with a lovely lob that was half an inch too high to go in off the crossbar and Reo had a go from a really acute angle which came off the post. We deserved a victory today but we had some really dodgy moments in defence which didn’t shock me sending the young guys out against an EPL outfit. Overall though we were the better team and I’m well pleased with things as they stand if we just QUIT fukking about right in front of our goal, it’s begging to concede and will hurt us if we don’t pack it in.
Oh and I’m still desperate for us to sign D/Zagreb’s ‘keeper!!

  • Bob (original) says:

    Looked decent today.

Defence will improve with return of injured players.

But, we do need a top class keeper.

We might no tbe able to buy a top class keeper,

but we do have the resources to bring in a top class keeper on loan…

  • Charlie Green says:

Celtic may need a new goalkeeper but would they know one when they saw one? When Barkas was first mentioned I went on to YT to see his “skills” video and was shocked. I remember saying to anyone who would listen, this guy can’t catch a ball. The next thing Celtic paid £5 million for him and you know the rest.
I think the background staff are not Celtic class but they seem to be in with the bricks.
