Hugh Keevins makes incredible Super Scoreboard claim

Justifying his own hysterics, Hugh Keevins has claimed that Superscoreboard on Radio Clyde is an accurate reflection of fans’ feelings!

The famous phone-in might be a mainstay of the footballing week for thousands of listeners but anyone claiming that it is reflective of anything other than the most extreme reactions needs to get out and enjoy some more fresh air.

Sharing weekends in the company of Kenny Miller, Gordon Dalziel and Mark Wilson is hardly likely to be educational on the finer points of football.

Debating way-out claims  raised by angry fans certainly draws in the listeners and advertisers with the added bonus of listening to Keevins explaining why the SPFL title will be heading to Ibrox.

In his Daily Record column the veteran reporter picks up on one caller to bolster his criticism of Celtic, explaining:

Superscoreboard is an accurate reflection of fans’ feelings. Not always a reliable indication of right and wrong but a heartfelt response to current events nevertheless. My first caller after Celtic’s opening league game against Ross County said Rodgers’ team had given a “shocking” performance at home.

Superscoreboard is a form of entertainment, it is as accurate a reflection of fans’ feeling as any random collection of 20 tweets.

Last Monday, following Kilmarnock’s win over Micky Beale’s All Stars the first caller asked whether there Alfredo Morelos would be returning to Ibrox!

Two different managers tried and failed to get the Colombian in shape last season, after a three month break enjoying himself back home in South America there are reasons why no team in Europe will go anywhere near Morelos.

Any one comment from anywhere can be blown out of all proportion, fair play to Keevins as it has boosted his bank balance for more than 20 years feeding off the noisiest of nutters.

And to think they let this auld fart near scissors.

  • Scud Missile says:

He is a nickel&dime so called journalist with every article written by him being NEGATIVE about the Scottish game and with 99% of it aimed at our own team and club.
He never knows when to keep his mouth shut, every time there is a lull in our play, he then starts to mouth off about the team running out of ideas only for us a minute or so later we go and score a goal, and he still tries to defend the statement he just made even though he was proved wrong.

He’s the Prick’s Prick! I always think of GG’s goal away to St Johnstone in 90th+ min when I hear his name. Mr. Non-Entity himself.

According to reports ,yeah that tuppenny yin , big Alfoodo’ s agent – Mr 20% – said that a whole load of clubs are chasing his Scooby Snacks protege …..in RUSSIA ! Erm ,good luck with that situation . The pariah of the world right now !

Or, Keevins could be performing an unintended service to footy supporters?

Keevins is a 70-something, ‘father of SMSM football journalism’, in effect.

Then you read his opinion pieces: off the cuff, guff – lacking in valuable insights,

or reasonable, balanced opinions drawn from literally decades of being immersed

    in Scottish football.

He’s an infirm, feeble shock-jock – at best.

Keevins’ DR articles and Clyds SSB utterances simply remind everyone just how

    pathetic the SMSM really is:

Keevins continues to support The DR ‘s daily circulation collapse… to hit that

    50K number. 🙂

Clyde has had the same handful of actors on for years, there’s the odd real fan that gets through to call them out but very seldom and they are cut off by the thesaurus reading old fool who knows nothing about fitba.

The only good thing that show has got going for it

It’s now screened live on You Tube so you can now see the disgust in all their faces when Celtic score a last minute winner

  • the maister says:

Keevins doesn’t want anything to change, even for the better!
For he has taken the soup – and that is what he is!
    Good Luck to him!

“You Asked Me For My Opinion And I gave You My Opinion!”
