Without the slightest sign of hesitancy the panel on Radio Clyde’s Super Scoreboard blabbed away about Micky Beale’s first couple of matches in charge at Ibrox.

It wasn’t a throwback to December last year, the 3-2 wins over Hibs and Aberdeen assisted by some ‘baffling’ refereeing decisions or how his side turned around a 1-0 half-time deficit to Celtic into an early second half lead before losing an 87th minute equaliser to guy that had never scored before in the fixture.

No, on 16 August 2023 Gordon Duncan, Marvin Bartley and Kenny Miller were all talking away as if Beale’s first match in charge was the 1-0 defeat away to Kilmarnock 11 days earlier.

It really was amazing, except that it wasn’t. Maintaining the O** F*** fantasy that is the lifeblood of most media outlets went to incredible lengths in 2012, now faced by Celtic hoovering up 17 of the last 21 domestic trophies they are absolutely brazen in how they pretend that two Glasgow clubs are virtually similar with nothing to split them.

Beale started off at Ibrox in November 2021, taking charge of the Europa League finalists with a couple of weeks of the winter break to work with the squad before going into the January transfer market.

Postecoglou took charge of Celtic in June 2021, inherited a car crash of a squad and had to wait until the final day of August before bringing in Cameron Carter-Vickers, Jota and Giorgos Giakoumakis. His Celtic rebuild was funded by selling Kris Ajer and Odsonne Edouard.

After nine months in charge of Celtic Postecoglou had won the League Cup and destroyed Giovanni van Bronckhorst and his squad in a 3-0 home win to go into top place in the SPFL Premiership, turning around a six point deficit on January 3 into a one point lead a month later.

There are basically no similarities between Beale and Postecoglou but if inventing FACTS! suits the audience on Radio Clyde it is best that they fire away- the next couple of weeks could be very painful for their listeners.

During Beale’s lost nine months he managed to lose to Celtic in the SPFL, Scottish Cup and Viaplay Cup as well as away to Aberdeen.

There is one new SPFL manager in Glasgow for the lads on Scoreboard to discuss, in an impressive start after two matches he has a 100% record.

It was Kenny Macintyre and Lee McCulloch that got the ball rolling with this lie on BBC Sportsound right after they got beat at Kilmarnock

Check out the podcast ( if it’s still there )

sevcos tactic, especially in Europe is to go a goal up with or w/o a penalty and then defend like Jakers for as long as it takes!
If the opposition scores first, especially at ipox, then a penalty will get them back into the game (proven by statistical analysis based on games in the SPL last season).
In the Servette ties they got a penalty then scored another bonus goal at home. But that team then managed to get a goal!
Over there they lost another one which evened the tie. So their big weapon, a left-back cross (from a set-piece) to their Captain Tavernier sneaked them a goal.
They hung on and defended their lead to see the game out. Hardly inspiring football.
    But it gets them victories!

PSV won’t make the same mistake twice, they’ll get their comeuppance starting next week. No UCL for the zombies.

Yep the maister – sadly it can work for them…

How I do (sadly) remember how they’d manage to defend wave after wave of attack by that be beautiful attack minded Tommy Burns Celtic team – that incredibly won next to nothing –

Then when they realised Celtic were getting close they wheeled out Farry and his grubby dark registration black arts for which he paid the price employment wise – but not before it was job done and Celtic deprived and defeated…

Sorry if this sounds callous – but Farry is better being where he currently is –

Just ma own humble opinion of course !
