Unless it is some feel-good tale from Ibrox TalkSPORT rarely shows any interest in Scottish football.

Some yarns about the good old days under Graeme Souness or Steven Gerrard are about as detailed as it gets from a broadcaster that describes David Tanner as their Scottish football expert.

Adrian Durham and Jason Cundy do have a special dislike of Celtic, given any chance they will sink the boot in as they take a peek at life outside of their EPL bubble.

Champions League results are a special source of fun for the English broadcaster who were quick to react to the defeat from Feyenoord.

Celtic’s Champions League record can almost be cut in two, before and after 2013. During their first dozen years Celtic Park was genuinely a fortress with Martin O’Neill, Gordon Strachan and Neil Lennon all managing to take nine points or more from campaigns.

Sadly since Barcelona and Spartak Moscow were beaten the record has virtually been reversed, only Ajax in 2013 have left Celtic Park as losers.

Lazio and Atletico Madrid are next up on the ‘guests’ list providing Brendan Rodgers’ squad with the opportunity to make a name for themselves and start turning that record around.

Dinamo Zagreb have a 71% loss record in the CL but they’ve only played 48 matches.
Scraping the bottom of the barrel trying to find dirt.

  • Exiled in Ard Mhaca says:

Why the hell does any Celtic supporter listen to TalkSh*t radio? As you rightly say Joe they never miss an opportunity to stick the boot in. Haven’t listened to it in years. A station full of sh*t stirring has beens and never wheres and it ain’t going to change.

The inference here being that it was in 2013 a certain locally based accountant joined the Club to further his career.
Despite having no experience of executive function at a football club, he quickly found his niche at the club, using his pecuniary skills to structure the club in such a way so as to secure that an ever increasing financial bonus or dividend ended up coming his way at the end of every new financial year!
Unfortunately though, this restructuring of the club was detrimental to the football operation of the club and completely disregarded the sacrifices of thousands of Celtic supporters who had built the Club up over the previous one hundred and thirty five years!

  • Terence Nova says:

The bottom line is…We need to improve our CL performances big time…to avoid further embarassment…and sadly I don’t think we’re equipped for it…PSV horsed Sevco…then they got horsed by Arsenal…The gap is HUGE…And I think the Board has settled for….Take the money and to Hell with the rest.

    • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

It’s a totally rigged tournament Terrence and one that I wouldn’t pay a penny to see…

It’s a pity our squad are decapitated this time as it’d have been interesting to see how we’d have got on in that group with everyone fit –

But we are where we are and that gives that outfit Talksport a chance to put their jackboots in big time…

I’ve never heard of them though and as I’ve only got council telly then I’ll never be paying to view them !
