Celtic could have the opportunity to increase their lead at the top of the SPFL Premiership at the start of November.

Obviously Brendan Rodgers would prefer to be involved in the semi-finals of the League club but on November 4 they will be playing away to Ross County rather than defending the trophy at Hampden.

A full SPFL Premiership card was in place for that date but with the League Cup taking priority Kilmarnock v Motherwell will be the only other game going ahead.

Before the Dingwall match Celtic host St Mirren in midweek then travel to Spain to take on Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

Celtic are scheduled to host Hearts on December 16 but that match would be postponed if Steven Naismith’s side reach the final of the League Cup.

The hoops are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Motherwell on the back of a full week of uninterrupted training, there are no more free midweeks until mid-December.
