Celtic have been credited with an interest in signing Nemanja Jovic.

After losing 2-0 to Feyenoord in the Champions League there won’t be much enthusiasm among supporters over signing a 21-year-old winger who is available as a free agent after getting out of his contract with Partizan Belgrade.

During the summer transfer window Celtic sold Jota to Al Ittihad while signing Luis Palma, Marco Tilio and Yang Hyun-jun to add to winger options that include Daizen Maeda, Liel Abada, James Forrest and Mikey Johnston.

Discussing Jovic Spanish publisher Estadio Deportivo reports:

Rayo Vallecano continues to move in search of players to reinforce its squad and thus ensure that the Madrid team continues adding wins.

The last name to be heard is that of Nemanja Jovic , a 21-year-old left winger who on August 31 stopped belonging to the Partizan Belgrade team after a legal battle that dragged on and finally ended with the player as a free agent. Now he is in a position to negotiate with the club he wants to feel like a footballer and shine again.

Rayo is following him closely as reported by the Relevo portal , but the Madrid team is not the only one, logically, that intends to acquire the services of the Serbian footballer .

The club that has made the first offer is Basel but Celtic are also behind , which we remember, currently play in the Champions League and Premier League teams such as West Ham .

Sheffield and Aston Villa . Furthermore, according to the portal mentioned above, the French league and the Bundesliga are also closely following the 21-year-old free agent.

According to what has emerged, Jovic, he has said no to Turkey and Arabia at the expense of finding an offer that better fits his sporting aspirations of playing in a major European league.

With such an extensive list of interested clubs and countries it looks very much like an agent highlighting the availability of their client.

Brendan Rodgers used much of the summer transfer window to assess the squad that he inherited from Ange Postecoglou with a focus turning to central defence due to a run of injuries.

Over the last 12 months the club has sold Josip Juranovic, Giorgos Giakoumakis and Carl Starfelt which has left the squad thin on experience.

As a free agent Jovic may be of interest but if he was to join Celtic it would raise questions over the recruitment process that identified and signed Yang, Tilio and Palma.
