One Ibrox fan decided to phone Go Radio for help to decide whether Rafa Benitez or Harry Redknapp is the better choice to succeed Micky Beale in charge of the Tribute Act.

Sunday’s reality check is already starting to give was to the delusion that they are some sort of attractive proposition when their history is filled with appointing unknown quantities from England and hoping for the best.

Mark Warburton, Steven Gerrard and Beale fall into that category with one trophy between them, inbetween caretakers such as Stuart McCall, Kenny McDowall and Graeme Murty the company has appointed Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Pedro Caixinha with the Dutchman delivering a Scottish Cup.

Ally McCoist got the Banter Years underway full of delusions with bears chasing him out of his dream job after promotion to The Championship proved to be too much of a test for the cheeky chappie.

For every manager the burden of entitlement and expectation has led to a messy end to their time in charge with Beale knowing that his next defeat will be his last before the Ibrox board give in to the angry mob.

Tuning in to Go Radio for speculation about Beale and the next boss the Daily Record reports:

One such punter phoned up Go Radio and put a bonkers four-man shortlist forward for Rangers to consider. Former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp, Celta Vigo’s Rafa Benitez, St Johnstone’s cup-winning double boss Callum Davidson and Livingston gaffer David Martindale. Redknapp was the first choice pick and the caller told pundit Leanne Crichton he’d rather have her in charge, currently coaching with the Motherwell Women’s side currently.

The Record reports Crichton, currently coaching Motherwell Ladies saying:

I think that is quite offensive if I am being honest! I thought I was coming across quite convincing! I’m going to tell you now, I don’t think Harry Redknapp is coming to Scotland.

Rafa Benitez I don’t think would either, Callum Davidson I don’t think at this stage coming off he back of a sacking would get the job and I don’t think anybody is going to give David Martindale as harsh as it sounds to coach at a higher level, and I don’t agree with that as I think he does a really good job at Livingston. Based on the job he does at Livi, I think that is a fit that goes well and I don’t know if he could replicate that at another club.

Moore added:

Everyone’s got their own group discussions and in terms of the names thrown out there, I think it is disrespectful to talk about anybody until something were to happen, if it were to happen. Is it a genuine conversation or are you at the wind-up with those names?

The minute that things go too far with Beale contact will be made with Kevin Muscat via one of his former Soccerros team-mates working as an agent alongside appearances in the Scottish media.

Video Celts understands that Martindale could resist any offer to take over at Ibrox due to concerns association would have on his reputation.

Beale is under contract until May 2026 with his pay-off and the need for an incredible squad overhaul probably the main factors keeping the former QPR boss in a job.

Will Micky Beale still be manager at Ibrox on Christmas Day?

Yes, he is the Brains Behind Gerrard, don't underestimate him

Currently negotiating with Pep Guardiola over financial terms, believed to be in the region of a fiver down and a pound a week, with a bonus of 10 billion shares in the clumpany.

Truly the zombies couldn’t get any dumber if they tried.

Be careful Tony as Given that you said (tongue in cheek I know ! ) that they’re negotiating with Pep Guardiola over financial terms – That bastion of football journalism The Daily Record might be after your football scoops…

That a belter Martinjail for the ibrox j ob,mind you he would fit right in there with his CRIMINAL past and the CRIMINALS running that klub.
I can just see Davie Escobar with his Pep&Co POUNDLAND blue suit on brogues with holes in them a shirt that doesn’t fit him and a tie that looks like a reject from a British Airways uniform cupboard.
I’m also very surprised that KING of the CHISLERS himself has not been out there pushing himself in front of the media for another comeback, surely it must be STATEMENT O’CLOCK TIME FOR KING.

    Ha! Those bears are funny.

And they obviously don’t want to even consider a real, harsh possibility:

that both Gerrard and GvB could continue – for many years –

to be the most successful managers in sevco’s history? 🙂
