Reo Hatate is back in full training and in line to feature against Dundee on Saturday.
The midfielder suffered a calf injury during a substitute appearance against Aberdeen that forced him to miss three matches before the international break.
Brendan Rodgers had limited options for those matches but went into the break with a four point lead over Michael Beale’s side after a dramatic win at Ibrox.
Odin Thiago Holm has emerged from Celtic’s summer signings as a real contender for a first team place but with the Champions League starting next week Hatate’s return is a timely boost.
Rodgers told the Celtic website:
Reo’s back training with the squad, which is great news. His energy’s been really good, he’s worked really hard since he picked up that injury at Aberdeen. So I’m really pleased that he’s back.
Hatate was left out of the Starting XI for the matches against Ross County and Aberdeen despite being one of the most influential players in last season’s treble success.
With a number of unexpected issues thrown in his way at the start of the season Rodgers now has a clear vision of the squad that he has going forward with Hatate expected to be heavily involved in the coming matches.
Nice one Joe
