Kenny Miller has branded Sunday’s defeat to Celtic as Simply The Worst in terms of fan reaction.

The media luvvie enjoyed three stints with the two Ibrox clubs and was at the centre of many famous defeats under Dick Advocaat, Walter Smith, Ally McCoist, Stuart McCall, Kenny McDowall, Pedro Caixinha and Graeme Murty.

Miller described Sunday’s defeat alongside Chris Sutton, sharing his thoughts with Sky Sports viewers as he tried to sugar-coat the second SPFL defeat of the season.

While Micky Beale raced down the tunnel at the final whistle James Tavernier led his team-mates on a lap of honour which allowed fans to express their hatred of the stars they had lauded before the 12 noon kick-off.

Since the final whistle on Sunday the mood on Social Media has been unforgiving, Beale has been slaughtered from every angle with previously on-message fan media sites admitting that there is no way back for the former QPR boss.

The army of former players in the media are trying to keep a lid of the toxic reaction with Miller trying to turn the focus on fans rather than discuss Beale’s multiple failing.

He told the Daily Mail:

We got beat by Unirea (Urziceni) 4-1 at home in the Champions League — that wasn’t great after that game. I’ve been on the back of a 5-1 in the Old Firm but I can’t remember that being as bad as it was on Sunday.

‘I think it was because there was so much positivity, so much getting made of the summer and the rebuild and all the new signings and how it will be different this year. But, at this moment in time, it’s not looking that way for anybody watching it.

‘I also don’t think Celtic are playing particularly great either. If I’m being honest, it wasn’t a great game. Celtic had a lot of good control in the first half, but the second half it was Rangers camped in Celtic’s half.

‘It’s not easy to get chances against really good teams, and when you get three good chances like Rangers did then you have to at least take one of them.

After the distraction of international football Miller will be back on Sky Sports duty next Saturday when Beale takes his side to St Johnstone followed by the Europa League opener at home to Real Betis.

Beale has a contract that runs until 2026, unless he suddenly goes on a long winning run it seems unlikely that he will stay in place into December, completing one year in the job.

They should get that DOUGHBALL that phoned up Go-Radoo the other night and called BENNY Ferguson a CHEERLEADER and say the same thing back to BENNY Miller.

The thickest most slavering pundit in the Scottish football media by a country mile

But he gets every gig available simply because he’s invented himself as an unashamed hun cheerleader

And yet he was once a Celtic player who kissed the Celtic badge on his jersey

    F*cking Bizarre
