Loan duo Adam Montgomery and Bosun Lawal look like facing a tough time at Fleetwood Town.
Lee Johnston, fresh from his sacking at Hibs took charge for the first time but saw his side lose 3-0 at home to Oxford to move into bottom place on goal difference.
A 2-1 defeat away to Charlton proved to be the end of the road for Scott Brown who brought in the Celtic duo on loan.
Lawal came off the bench in the 78th minute yesterday but the visitors were already 3-0 in front, Montgomery failed to make the squad with his only appearance this season coming in a Football League Trophy win over Tranmere Rovers.
Next Saturday Fleetwood are away to Burton Albion who are one point above them with both sides waiting on their first win of the season.
Ideally the plan would have been for Montgomery and Lawal to learn alongside Brown but now they are in at the deep end fighting for survival under a new manager which will provide a very different challenge.
Sitting at the top of the League One table is Exeter City, managed by Gary Caldwell, with 16 points from eight matches.
Wigan, managed by Shaun Maloney have already wiped out the eight point penalty that they started the season with and have five points from seven matches.

Bosun Lawel sounds awfully close to Bonus Lawwell !
Eh, to learn what, exactly, alongside Brown?
