The beauty was in the simplicity, with just four touches of the ball it went from Celtic’s penalty box to the back of Jack Butland’s net.

An old school punt up the park from Joe Hart in first half stoppage time shouldn’t have carried much threat but some head tennis between Connor Goldson and Matt O’Riley created an opening for Scotland’s top marksman.

Kyogo Furuhashi had been denied twice earlier in the match but he let O’Riley’s header bounce once, as it came down again he lashed a perfectly placed shot from 20 yards across Butland to put Celtic in front.

In the second half Celtic defended that lead resolutely while creating more than a few decent openings at the other end of the park.

A year ago Kyogo was nursing a shoulder injury with detractors claiming that he couldn’t crack it in the Glasgow derby.

In 2023 Celtic have scored nine goals against their city rivals, the former Vissel Kobe man has popped away six of them as Glasgow remains green and white.

Lol now the fun and games will start let’s see how long it is now before Don Robertson and his assistants are allowed near another fixture at ibrox,I don’t see them being invited back to ref any of the remaining fixtures at ibrox this season, possibly maybe even kept away from all of sevco’s remaining games home and away for the rest of the season.

A great strike… just seen Kris Boyd on sky saying that the referee has to be stronger… Just to be clear Kris “the rangers” were at HOME, everyone “fans” in the stadium were of a “the rangers” persuasion and the referee disallowed a goal for the HOME side…. how much STRONGER can the referee be given all that …. silly billy Kris Boyd ….. but I feel your pain Kris ha ha ha

    It’s just past 11 o’clock – No statement o’clock from outta Liebrox yet…

Fear not – For it is coming down the pipe !

  • Bob (original) says:

Yes, complaint going into Hampden from sevco…

just as soon as they find the petty cash to buy a stamp! 🙂

Kyoto is so sharp, and even though he was stretching, his technique

to place the ball, with power, was exceptional.

    • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Jeez – I knew just like every other fellow Hoops fan that the statement of complaint would be going in Bob (original)…. I just didn’t think it’d be that quick !

If Sevco die just like Rangers did (c.2012) then the third incarnation could easily be known as Rapid Rangers…

Our board could take lessons from them in fighting perceived injustices – even when they’re absolute not injustices like The VAR result in minute 28 yesterday !
