Celtic fans joined in the celebrations as Aaron Ramsey scored from the penalty spot for Cardiff against Swansea on Saturday night.

Cardiff were already leading 1-0 when Ramsey stepped up to take the 86th minute penalty before running off as if he had scored the winner in the Europa League Final.

Ramsey is of course something of a hero to Celtic and Scottish football fans after he spared them the summer from hell last year after the Ibrox Tribute Act had somehow got themselves to within a penalty away from winning a European trophy.

After a 1-1 draw the Europa League Final was heading towards penalties when Giovanni van Bronckhorst made a 118th minute substitution, sending on the Welsh ace for a very unhappy Fashion Sakala.

Kevin Trapp had Ramsey sussed, stuck out a leg to block his effort with Rafael Borre tucking away the final penalty to take the trophy to Germany.

Kris Boyd’s celebrations back on Transfer Deadline Day must have stuck in his throat as he watched Ramsey pick up his losers medals as thousands of dehydrated bears cursed the decision to sign the greatest Welsh football of all time.

After a season hoovering up euros from Nice Ramsey joined Cardiff in the summer but his place in Scottish football folklore was sealed One Evening in Seville.
