Loyal bears have been trying to out do each other to explain just how bad Cyriel Dessers is as a footballer.

Some are even suggesting that legal action should be taken against Micky Beale for head hunting the striker and offering a four year contract after a £4.5m fee was agreed with Cremonese.

A change of manager and a goal against Hibs prompted the media messengers to push the idea that big Cyriel was about to outscore Kyogo Furuhashi but last night’s ‘performance’ away to Sparta Prague brought a return to reality.

Dessers had a mare, elementary ball control was beyond him, team play and making a contribution to the team just wasn’t a consideration.

One fan on Follow Follow concluded that all fans were in agreement that Dessers was dog sh**e, only for the knowledgeable and articulate WATP to explain that dog sh**e actually has a use in the production of leather.

With fellow dud Danilo performing in a mask last night it looks like Dessers can quietly be eased out of the picture with references to adapting to the pace of Scottish football and the heavy expectations of succeeding Alfredo Morelos.

Danilo replaced Dessers after 74 minutes in last night’s 0-0 draw, Kemar Roofe failed to make the bench with Philippe Clement’s striking options badly limited.

Costing £4.5 from Serie A it is unlikely that Dessers, 29 in December, is earning less than £40,000 a week, in line with the top earners at Ibrox such as Roofe, John Lundstram and Ben Davies.

And if the dodgy Minty Murray was still at ibrox, would Dessers

have passed his infamous “sniff test”…? 🙂

And how long before those delighful bears start growling that

Lampard would have been the better choice as manager?
