Billy Davies has spoken out about his readiness to take on the Ibrox manager’s job until the end of the season.

Over the last week a couple of media messengers have been highlighting the availability of the former Motherwell manager who had successful spells in England at Preston, Derby County and Nottingham Forest.

Davies developed the reputation for being utterly paranoid over scheming local media outlets plotting to oust him which seems to have played a part in being out of football management for nine years.

The 59-year-old has been back in Renfrewshire since leaving Forest in 2014 with his contacts putting out the message that he is out watching matches and looking for a return into management.

Picking up on his appearance with Ewan Cameron on The Big Football Podcast, The Sun reports:

Look, I’m available. I’m just along the road and it’s a great club and a club that I admire greatly. I certainly would go in until the end of the season to help them. I’ve got no doubt if that offer ever came along then it’s something I would look at.”

Asked whether he thinks he has what it takes to turn things around at Ibrox, Davies replied: “You’ve got to look at things very carefully and I’ve got no doubt that challenge would be a very exciting challenge.

“As I said before, I’d be delighted to help them until the end of the season if that’s the case.”

John Bennett and James Bisgrove are both in London to conduct interviews but are expected to return empty-handed to decide between Davies, Derek McInnes and David Martindale.

    McInnes, Martindale or Davies…?

    Decisions, decisions.

And that was a rather quick plummet from ‘Lampard level’

    – to locals available on the cheap?

Regardless of who takes the poisoned chalice this time around:

    sevco’s season is already over.

Mwahahaha! Not even literally being called “Billy” would be enough to sell this clown to the Orcs! Would love to see it though – not so much scraping the bottom of the barrel as raking through next door’s wheelie bins!
