A very sizeable number of Celtic fans are concerned and angry by the decision today to suspend the Season Tickets of the Green Brigade.
It appears that a number of unacceptable incidents at matches home and away can be pinned at the door of the Ultras group with 200 tickets involved.
The immediate impact will be a much quieter stadium tomorrow night against St Mirren with another wedge driven between rank and file supporters and the club executives, Michael Nicholson and Peter Lawwell.
As the story from Radio Clyde demonstrates it is almost impossible not to link the decision with the recent displays of support for Palestine which is clearly coming from much more than 200 fans.
In Celtic’s last three matches there has been Palestone flags on display in almost every area of the stadium.
This afternoon Celtic sent out an email to those supporters effected which included a claim that:
Further, it was also clearly explained to the group to that, as a result of unacceptable behaviours during Season 2022/23, the Club was required to submit a report to the Safety Advisory Group of Glasgow City Council, following every home game in an attempt to address the SAG’s “concerns regarding the conduct of certain spectators located within the north-east curve area.”
It seems to be an incredible coincidence that it has taken until November to follow up on those issues, just weeks after a surge in Palestine flags appearing at matches, home and away.
Are Celtic right to suspend Season Tickets for Green Brigade members?
Yes, the board are protecting their business
No, they are badly out of touch
? UPDATE: The club say the suspension is due to ‘serious safety concerns’. ??https://t.co/HksFMQrtay

Every fan affected should all be asking for their money back then.

Sad how the club use the GB for their money making when it suits them

War on the fans. Best hope we don’t lose this league now

Radio Snide inferring by picture used Green Brigade banned for siding with Palestine . Shame on the Celtic Board, supporting war criminals since 2006?

Nothing compared to what Palestinians are going through.
Keep taking your flags.
This is OUR club. Not the TORY boards. #freepalestine #sacktheboard #fuckthetories

Disgrace

The only unacceptable behaviour is coming from this Celtic Board, the attempted banning of a flag against Atletico was disgraceful, when the forcible displacement of that entire people “ethnic cleansing” is occurring our board wish to silence dissent,
Unacceptable….

Scottish football is corrupt beyond any reasonable argument.
Yet, the Celtic Board continue to maintain their hold on the moral high ground.
Shame on You!
Your position is untenable and you are wrong!
All right thinking people will prove to be your downfall.
You will have no place in Celtic history!
Guess that the Board was waiting for a UEFA fine, which hasn’t appeared,
before issuing the ban…?
Regardless of the rights or wrongs, claims and counterclaims,
the fact that there is now a very public fallout between the Board and some of the fans,
[i.e. the paying punters],
is a clear failure of our highly paid management.
It should never have got to this point.
And the Board should always remember that supporters – whether in the GB or not –
are THEIR customers.
The Board has failed yet again, and simply handed the SMSM
an open goal to talk down our club.
Not good, at all. 🙁
you nailed it on the head there , meanwhile over at sevco , up to there necks in blood is the norm , we should all support the GB and stay away from C P until they are returned
Fu@k lawwell and the rest of the tory b@st@rds running Celtic, free Palestine!
Everyone boycott the game in support of the green brigade
I don’t go anymore Pat so this might seem a tad hypocritical – but boycotting the game is only gonna hurt the players (The Tory yellow cowards in grey suits have the season ticket money)…
Hurting the team aids only one ‘thing’ and that ‘thing’ is Sevco –
Sevco winning The League this season will be UTTERLY CATASTROPHIC for Celtic and utterly catastrophic for a long time as well…
Tonight – (If a divided Celtic support continues) – It is the best ever points tally and Christmas Presents that Sevco could have dreamed off !
Tory board out now, don’t let them silence us, free Palestine!
Either we are Celtic fans or we are not.
It is not for the Board, (a collective of four or five individuals) to decide if this is so.
Get them out , to pot.
We Are Celtic supporters. Not the Board who are in in it for the stipend.
How dare you judge us according to your selfish, money grabbing values!
Shame on the Celtic Board who refuse to address the corrupt nature of Scottish Football.
But choose instead to attack their own fans who express their own views as Celtic supporters!
I think we could all see the writing on the wall, Celtic board v Green Brigade so it’s not really surprising this latest development. If what they allegedly have been upto is truthful then they have become to big for there boots and rightfully should be sanctioned. I have stated before that I support the GB in many ways but when they take it too far ie that appalling banner they displayed as the middle east war kicked off was distasteful to say the least and like it or not it reflects on all celtic supporters and gives ammunition to the people who will gleefully use it for there own agenda.
That said I smell a few big fat rich rats namely the Celtic board. I have not been happy with there own serving agenda for quite some time. They fail on so many levels and everything is getting worked on behind the scenes.
I think as celtic supporters we should start scrutinising our board in the same manner that they are doing with the GB. We will keep flying the flag for Palestinian we have done so for many years and will continue to do so GB or not.
Keep politics out of football rubbish, our club was started because politics was being used against the poor and the Irish in the East end,I’m proud of GB and our supporters for showing there support for the Palestinians. This shower of Tory rats on our board, forget we have already got rid off one board we can do it again.Lets all boycott all purchases from any Celtic shop and start to boycott games at home
What did the
“Appalling”
banner say?
“A sizeable amount” but I bet the majority are saying its high time they were reigned in.
No group of fans should be allowed to bring the clubs name into disrepute, and it isn’t just the latest episode, that’s just the catalyst for action.
It is the Celtic Board who have brought the Club into disrepute. An d’higgin tu?
Anti-Jewish hatred and support for atrocities is unacceptable. Keep politics out of Paradise.
Nobody is showing Anti-Jewish Hatred or support for atrocities. You lost!
A figment of your paranoid mind, perhaps?
Or maybe you know different?
“Keep Politics Out of Paradise”
is a slogan you spout often.
But WTF does it mean?
Do you even know yourself?
Do not reply to this missive if you are robot, eh?!
Do you know anything about football or are you a political robot?
So The Celtic Support are divided and split down the middle…
Well cue the cubical walls in the toilet stalls for the animals at The Daily Record and BBC Scotland and the inner doors and the ceilings being covered from metre to metre in the longest jizzed spunk in Scotland this week…
If this filters down to the players and points are dropped The Green Brigade and The Celtic Board are gonna end out being the best friends of Sevco !
The board hàve given the media exactly what was wanted.
Idiots.
Fkn disgusting banning the G.B. from any Celtic game especially flying a few flags in support of people who are being bombed out of their homes. Thought we were able to decide these things ourselves not a great deal different from flying the tricolour tbh.
if the GB are out !! i’m out !! fuck um !!
If it is the GB today, it could be you tomorrow. We understand that. Show solidarity with your fellow supporters. You don”t even have to agree with them!
You could buy a subscription to CelticTV and watch the game later on and listen to it on the radio! You are forced to watch half of the games this way anyway!
The Board are taking us all for Mugs!
