Kevin Muscat has diplomatically side-stepped moving to Ibrox by pledging to stay with Yokohama F Marinos until the end of the J-League season in December.
When Celtic made contact with Ange Postecoglou in 2021 he instantly moved to Scotland with Muscat stepping up to become manager of the Marinos.
After losing to ARIS Limassol on Thursday and being rejected by Frank Lampard there is a renewed sense of urgency/desperation about James Bisgrove’s efforts to replace Beale.
Inheriting a squad of players that supporters have written off and turning around a significant points gap with Celtic is a tall order for any manager to take on with Muscat quietly distancing himself from an imminent move to Ibrox.

Ange Postecoglou’s success and being linked with the Ibrox job has raised Muscat’s profile with a move to Europe likely in January when the sacking season gets underway.
Meanwhile it looks more and more likely that Steve Davis and Alex Rae are in for an extended spell in charge as the tougher fixtures start to emerge with away matches against teams in the top six coming up.

If that isn’t a huge hint from Muscat that he does not want to be associated with anything about the Rangers I don’t know what is . I suppose to iterate his distance from the tribute act , he might have said that Neptune City had also made contact with him for being it’s new boss .
