Rookie ref gets rapid Celtic return as SFA announce officials for Celtic v Kilmarnock

For the second time in four home matches in the SPFL Matthew MacDermid will be in charge of Celtic.

The Lanarkshire based referee had never taken control of a hoops match before the start of the season but after taking charge of the 0-0 draw at home to St Johnstone he will again be in the middle for Kilmarnock’s visit on Saturday.

In-between times MacDermid has only been in charge of two matches, with 16 different referees taking charge of Premiership fixtures so far this season it seems strange than in the fourth home game a referee is getting his second Celtic appointment.

Celtic had a complete off day against St Johnstone but have strung together four successive wins since that stalemate.

Joe Hart is available again after suspension with Celtic knowing that a win over Kilmarnock will put them seven points clear before the second and third placed sides meet in Paisley the following day.

David Dickinson will be on VAR duty for the Celtic match with George Calder as the Fourth Official.

  • Joe says:

This ref is being rewarded for being the only one so far to ensure he was able to prevent Celtic taking full points.

  • Scud Missile says:

Former sevco player Jack Simpson sacked by Cardiff for using racist language.
Once again had Simpson actions been nipped in bud at sevco he would have known that language would not be tolerated, but hey the klub probably encouraged it,hence why SIMPLETON SIMPSON thought he could get away with it again.

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Not sure if there was any controversy with him v St. Johnstone…

They parked the bus, their goalie played a blinder and we were pedestrian and poor –

But still a chance for McInnes to mouth off in the media come Friday and pressure a rookie referee !

Okay Joe, you got me with that pic at the top of your post!
I know it’s likely one of these but don’t know which one. I’ll just go for all of them.
    It’s either:
    3 related brothers,
    3 masonic brothers
    3 wise monkeys
    3 dumb monkeys
    3 times a souptaker
3 times a (rhyming slang) dog on heat.

OR, “er,em gentlemen, since you’re out of ‘harms way’ at this freebie, I can arrange a ‘local ride’ for each of you, what do you say? All together SFA: “Just as long as it’s like everything else we do, FREE.” And the wee twat on the right says,”nae soup fur me brother, last time a hud soup a ruined a good tie”.

I’m guessing this (above) doesn’t flow too well but I lose most of my limited competency at explaining my views/feelings.
BUT WHAT ANOTHER FINE DAY IT IS TO BE A TIM!
