It was hardly the launch of a managerial dream team but Celtic fans got plenty out of Alex Rae joining Philippe Clement on the training ground at Murray Park yesterday.
With Micky Beale now sadly departed the former Monaco boss will be sharing his wisdom with the world as he attempts to install fresh enthusiasm in the Gullible & Deluded as they are fed another Revolution!
Rae has spent most of the last decade sitting in the Super Scoreboard studio with Hugh Keevins, Gordon Dalziel and Mark Wilson pouring over Celtic’s dominance of Scottish football.
When Paul Ince got the managers job at Reading in February 2022 he called on his trusty number 2 to join him in The Championship where they got away with in for 14 months before being sacked on the brink of relegation in April.
Rae has surprisingly kept a low profile in the media since his sacking but his UEFA Pro licence came in handy when Beale was sacked with Steve Davis appointed caretaker,
With funds tight Clement has only been able to bring in one coach, meaning a stay of execution for Davis and Rae.
After the November international break Clement will see the strength of his squad with away matches at Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs, Motherwell and Celtic before the end of the year.
