This morning Steven Davis is preparing for his managerial debut, trying to get a tune out of Micky Beale’s misfits away to ARIS Limassol in the Europa League.

It is a tough task, especially alongside Alex Rae as the Irishman auditions for the job knowing that genuine options are thin on the ground.

Just a week ago it seems that the caretaker was enjoying a break in Rome, dropping in to Finnegans where he was enjoying the black stuff until a certain Symphony was played.

Taking in the Ryder Cup appears to have been more of a priority than watching his beloved club in action or stepping up his rehab while Beale’s squad was hit by injuries to Todd Cantwell, Nico Raskin and Kieran Dowell.

Last week Beale was involved in a gruelling schedule of matches but seemed to be negotiating it with four wins and four clean sheets completed with a win over Livingston in the League Cup.

How closely Davis has been watching events isn’t known, a training ground injury last December resulted in surgery which looked like forcing his retirement from playing.

No new playing contract was offered but he has been using the facilities at Murray Park for rehab, now he finds himself in the front line tomorrow knowing that the last two managers have survived 22 months before fan pressure forced them out of office.

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Davis seems quite quiet and sensible (I think) for a guy from The Six Occupied Counties who supports Sevco…

Kyle Lafferty he certainly ain’t by the looks of it –

He still deserted the black death ship Rangers as it sunk without trace into it’s Black Sea…

It might not last long now he’s in tandem with Count Dracula Rae though !

Try as he might he’ll never knock sense and decency into that article !

Rangers is in fact a Frankenstein Monster.
Frankenstien tried to put life into a jumbled up corpse, much in the way that the sevco fans are trying breathe life into their new Club.
But it ain’t going to happen, however hard they try.
They don’t get it. Neither did Frankenstien!
