At Saturday tea-time, following Celtic’s 1-1 draw against Motherwell the Battle Fever was on, sort out Aberdeen and it was game on with the Clement Revolution in full flow- who could stop them?

CJ Novo was suddenly within touching distance of a first ever public title win, thousands of bears celebrating the brilliant Belgian that had put Celtic back in their place. Or so he thought.

The excitement never lasted 24 hours. By mid-afternoon if Sunday the entire Ibrox support were reminded that Tavernier, Goldson and Barisic have less winners medals that Alistair Johnston for a reason. They are not very good, serial losers that crumble when the pressure is on.

Winning the Dead Rubber Trophy sustained them through the summer, by the time Celtic won at Ibrox on September 3 Mister Beale was a dead man walking, unable to survive the 101 days that Giovanni van Bronckhorst lasted for.

At least the Dutchman won his first five SPFL matches, stretching the lead to Celtic to six points before falling into second place after Tav and Borna got a fright across the city as they crashed to a 3-0 defeat. The club has never recovered from that one.

A win over third bottom Aberdeen would have cut the gap at the top of the Premiership to six points with a game less played.

The old failings were in evidence at Aberdeen, the new manager had to call on an old friend with Andrew Dallas providing a stoppage time penalty for an offence that he let go unpunished three times earlier in the month when Celtic were at Ross County.

With 60,000 You Tube subscribers there should be plenty more quality content for Novo to entertain us with as he gets behind the third Revolution in as many seasons.

I’ve always thought the boy gave quite a balanced account. There’s no sectarianism, no anti-Irish racism and he’s passionate about his team. The false dawns must take their toll after a while, but win or lose he give his own opinions.
