Celtic Trust backs the Green Brigade and calls for return of Season Tickets

The Celtic Trust has called on the Celtic Board to reverse their decision to withdraw the Season Tickets belonging to Green Brigade members.

News emerged yesterday with Season Tickets wouldn’t be valid for tonight’s match against St Mirren with a lengthy ‘crime sheet’ sent out to the club’s messengers.

Nothing has been said on the record, on the club website or on their multiple social media platforms.

All sorts of interpretations have been put on the ‘crime sheet’ with action just happening to take place when very visible support for Palestine is being undertaken by the Celtic support at large.

Palestine flags were prominent in the away matches at Hearts and Hibs with no allocation given to the Green Brigade.

At lunchtime today The Celtic Trust announced:

The Trustees of the Celtic Trust wish to comment on the decision of Celtic PLC to withdraw, for an indefinite period, the season ticket rights of a section of the Celtic support.  From the information now available on social media, it is abundantly clear to us that this action has been motivated by the the flying of Palestinian flags at Celtic Park in protest against the continuing wholesale and indiscriminate slaughter of Palestinian civilians, including over 3000 children.

This show of anger and solidarity with the Palestinian people was supported by thousands of Celtic supporters around the stadium and not for the first time.  Why then was only one group singled out and targeted?

The facts, according to various communications from Celtic which are now freely circulating, are that the away ticket allocation for the Green Brigade was stopped because of alleged conduct issues at Feyenoord (19/9/23), Motherwell (30/9/23) and Lazio (4/10/23). The withdrawal of away tickets was not implemented for a full three weeks after the Lazio game for some reason, but we can only assume that this ‘punishment’ covered all the incidents up to that point.

After that point the only games we have had were the Atletico Madrid home game on 25/10/23 and the Hibs away game (for which this group of fans were not allocated tickets) on 28/10/23.

Further, we know that there were no Celtic travel stewards in the Hibs ground so Celtic can have no credible information about any misconduct at that ground.

Celtic seem to have come to a very quick conclusion that trouble outside Easter Road was the fault of the Green Brigade. It took the club almost a year to reveal that the crushing outside of a Glasgow Derby in September 2018 was caused by a change in crowd control rather than unruly actions by supporters.

The Celtic Trust have regular meetings with the club but little support or activity across the broader support.

Today’s statement was their first comment since June which related to the appointment of Brendan Rodgers as manager.

Are Celtic right to suspend Season Tickets for Green Brigade members?

Celtic were founded on supporting the underprivelidge and I believe the GB are trying to make that point.

Personally, I would have targetted the horendous smoke bombs and the enormous flags that block the view of the people behind them This would have narrowed it down to a handfull of people getting banned.

As for the rest, people are choosing to get upset with words. You can’t say anything nowadays and that is a downward slope.

I believe the GB should be praised for highlighting the plight of the Palestinian people. The humiliation, subjugation, forced displacement, ethnic cleansing perpetrated by their masters Israel..It all can come under Racism and Apartheid….isn’t Racism that Eufa supposedly detests….it didn’t start on Oct 7th…it started with the Balfour declaration 1917,the Nakbla 1948…the occupation of Arab lands, the concentration camp which is Gazza. The killing of a Palestinian child every 10 mins NOW . Please get informed. Please avoid the MSM..

What a lot of pish. Ironic it’s from the Celtic Trust when trust is the issue with the GB, i.e. they cannot be trusted to behave. This is not only to do with the flying of Palestinian flags (that’s not all that was being flown and that’s more the issue) but the culmination of a series of arsehole maneuvers by the GB and the club finally saying “Enough!”. I’m sure Hibs have CCTV footage from the game there, there are reports from Tims that were at Fir Park regarding their behaviour, so to claim there is no reliable evidence is disingenuous nonsense.

Just because this group of self-important muppets hasn’t been shown it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist!

The GB are entirely to blame for this situation. It’s not often I’ll say this but the board are 100% correct to ban this shower of wee neds. Contrary to the deluded nonsense swimming about their idiot brains they are not bigger than the club.

Editor: If there was the evidence being suggested I’m sure fans would have been arrested and charged, hasn’t happened as far as I know.
No £40,000 a year Non Exec is bigger than the club.

    • Seppington says:

I don’t disagree re: the execs but they aren’t the ones breaking the law or bringing fines upon the club, are they? Sure they’re a shower of bastards but that doesn’t automatically make them wrong here. Arrests don’t always happen quickly, there’s still plenty of time for the filth to knock on culprits’ doors.
The GB have had plenty of warnings, why is anyone in the least surprised at this ban? It was only a matter of time and the flags thing has just hastened it.

Can’t finish your posts. Your gob is full of yellow crappy bile!

      • Seppington says:

Oh look it’s the troll du jour, the “Maister Baiter”.

Well you sure are a wanker…

  • Jack says:

In the photo above 10 percent of the fans are raising the palestinian flag but Celtic have not said thats the reason i believe european games are the cause and fireworks flares smoke bombs i cant understand i myself have witnessed it like most fireworks looks good from a distant if your close not so nice fumes choke you its not nice its a pity these people loss their tickets i wouldnt Celtic is my promise land not just 90minutes when you wake up till kick off brilliant live tv and early kick offs sunday’s to have ruined it a bit but going to Celtic park is not a thing i would put in danger im my own man i live my life and Celtic is a large part of it so if people think that giving up seen Celtic in a great atmoshere scottish parliment or city chambers is the place for this not football

    • the maister says:

I too believe that the Board have a legitimite concern here with the pyrotechnics.
So, why don’t they just come out and say that?
      They’re fockin’ creeps, that’s how!

  • bertie basset says:

i’m more than certain that the poll on here is infiltrated by the sevco fans , it would be more in line for the celtic board to focus on cheatin beaton and his ill rather than the passionate fans at celtic park , you won’t see sevco doing the same to the most bigoted fans in britain !!
