The day after a 6-0 defeat on Matchday 4 one tweet has provided some bizarre comfort to Celtic fans.
One Champions League group stage victory in the last 10 years is a stat only too well known with dozens of others springing out of that run.
Bizarrely Celtic could still qualify for the knock-out stage of the Champions League even though a win away to Lazio at the end of this month will still leave them in bottom place.
Jimmy Jungas on Twitter has his glass more than half full, with two rounds of fixtures left to be played there are fairly believable results that would see Celtic join Atletico in the knock-out stage next year.
Imagine this scenario
Lazio 0 Celtic 2
Feyenoord 0 Atletico 1Celtic 1 Feyenoord 0
Atletico 1 Lazio 0Atletico 14 pts
Celtic 7 pts
Lazio 7 pts
Feyenoord 6 ptsCeltic through on head to heads with Lazio
KEEP THE FAITH
HH ???

‘Only’ a head-to-head win over Lazio is required to keep the prospect above alive, on the other hand anything less than a win in Rome and it is bottom place and the wooden spoon for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
Daizen Maeda and Luis Palma are suspended for the match against Lazio, stretching already fragile resources even further with Daizen Maeda and Liel Abada both out with medium term injuries.
Keep The Faith in all circumstances, mate.

I love your enthusiasm, in the unlikely event of this great scenario happening, knowing our luck, Atletico on match day 6 would be already through and would play a weekend side and get turned over…. But hey we can dream ?
