When Callum McGregor calls it embarrassing the Celtic board really ought to sit up and listen.

The club captain is on the inside, the player closest to the management while also being out there is the front line.

No-one was embarrassed a year by a 5-1 defeat to Real Madrid, after five years out of the Champions League there were signs of progress, of players that could become competitive at that level and advancing.

During the summer Jota, Carl Starfelt and Aaron Mooy left the club, of the seven signings made only Luis Palma has made a positive contribution to this season’s campaign.

With Reo Hatate and Liel Abada both out injured quality was thin on the ground with McGregor sharing his thoughts with TNT as Eurosport reported:

It was a very tough night for sure. It is embarrassing to lose six goals and we have to learn quick.

That has to be a one off, we have now come to two away games and had men sent off. This level is difficult enough when it is 11 vs 11and that is not to point fingers at anyone because I think all three of the challenges have not had any malice in them.

Celtic have two more Champions League matches this season, starting away to Lazio at the end of this month.

Four years ago the hoops beat the Italian side home and away, anything less than a win in Rome will officially end Celtic’s European ambitions for another season.

There are two Boards in this wee country that are working together and taking their fans to the cleaners. They are playing on the attachments of these fans and taking them for a ride.

I only care about us and wee Fergus was very honest and clear about his involvement. He is a man of great integrity and the present Board are not of the same calibre and clearly do not have the same professionalism and courage. I await with no confidence to see a forward plan to strengthen our club. I wish the wee man was still here. The present incumbents have let him and us down badly. These people have increased their own salaries and are not accountable. A revolution is needed.

Note to Callum – the Desmonds, the Lawwells and the board CGAF what he thinks.

Absolutely the board has to go and new owners bought in. The restructured Champions league of the next few years will be out of reach for us.

At this point we are a Conference level team and with the penny pinching and complete lack of vision, we will be lucky to do anything there.
6-0 to Atletico is a joke. A send off doesn’t mean ship goals, it means dig in, sit back and counter attack. Goal difference counts!!!

After 45 years of defending this club and believing we are as great as we tell everyone finally I have to admit we are a Diddy team in a joke of a league and will never be anything but until we are in the EPL or a second tier Euro league competition.

What Desmond has done to this once great club, is sickening. Get us a solid defence , a manager that manages instead of throwing their arms up when things don’t go our way.

Ange was a stroke of luck and a result of cheaping out but even he would struggle as he has always been a 2 season manager then it falls apart so he jumps before he gets worked out.

Sorry Captain…but we’ve heard it all before…The bottom line is…We are nowhere near European standards…and I have no idea how we get there…So for now…forget Europe and give everything to being Champions again…That HAS to be our priority.
