Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Kyoo Furuhashi was given a full week off after his sickening head injury against Aberdeen on November 12.

A late challenge from Slobodan Rubezic sent the striker spinning, knocking him out before his head thudded off the turf, with each re-run of the incident the challenge looked more gruesome.

While Kyogo was getting treatment Rubezic was yellow carded by Willie Collum, Celtic ran out 6-0 winners on the day but it was the injury to their star striker that most concerned home fans after the match.

Naturally Kyogo was withdrawn from the Japanese international squad, there was no news on his condition but on Thursday he was spotted back in training.

Speaking to The Sun, Rodgers said:

Kyogo Furuhashi is OK, he has joined in with the group. We gave him a week just to find his feet again, but he should be fine.

From the images at Lennoxtown the striker looks as lively as ever, training without any protection with no visible bruising.

His shoulder injury has already attracted attention this season but hasn’t held him back with his goal haul including two in the Champions League.

They won’t stop in this rancid football country until they do him a serious injury…

And mark my words – This is Scotland and they’ll do it –

And it’ll be too little too late giving a few cheap ‘digs’ about it after the event has happened…

But that’ll be The Celtic Hierarchy for you !

Well, if that was Aberdeen Lying Down then … ?
