Luis Palma has apologised to Honduras after their 2-0 defeat to Mexico followed by a 4-2 reverse in the penalty shoot out.
Victory would have booked a place at next year’s Copa America but they now face a March Play Off with Trinidad & Tobago.
Palma, who was an injury doubt before the match in the Azteca Stadium, missed a decent first half chance with the score at 0-0 with Mexico taking advantage to score through Luis Chavez in the 41st minute.
Perdón Honduras perdón.

The winger will now undertake the long journey from Mexico City to Glasgow to prepare for Celtic’s match on Saturday at home to Motherwell.
With Liel Abada and Daizen Maeda both injured Brendan Rodgers will be anxious to have the Honduran fit and available for domestic duties.
