After 11 minutes of international action for Scotland against Norway on Sunday Ryan Jack is an injury doubt for Sunday’s match away to Aberdeen.

The 31-year-old was given a new 12 month contract by Micky Beale at the end of last season but has only started four SPFL matches this season with a further four appearances coming off the bench.

Since moving to Ibrox straight after losing the 2017 Scottish Cup Final Jack has only started 101 SPFL matches, an average of 16 per season.

Despite that he seems able to breeze into the Scotland squad anytime that he plays for his club despite the strong competition for midfield places.

When Clement says doubtful it probably means that Jack will be out for a fortnight with a series of 12 matches coming up over the next 38 days.

With Nico Raskin also injured it looks like Sam Lammers will continue in midfield with two others from John Lundstram, Todd Cantwell and Jose Cifuentes for the Pittodrie test.
