In his first post-match interview to Sunderland media Micky Beale apologised as e admitted that he was bitterly disappointed by his side’s 3-0 defeat at home to Coventry.

The Brains Behind Gerrard is expected to build on the good work done by Tony Mowbray to turn Sunderland into promotion contenders but the omens are looking ominous.

After signing off at Ibrox with a 3-1 defeat from Aberdeen at the end of September it seems like the old magic is still there with a lifeless display producing another demoralising home defeat.

Beale’s appointment in midweek saw Sunderland’s Twitter account swamped by comments from two sets of supporters of Glasgow teams, strangely they all had similar views of Beale.

Ten monfs hearing about the fings that he finks about as he drops self promotion in between the cliches made Beale a must watch during his time at Ibrox where he had a fawning media hanging on his every idea.

On the park the football was dull and boring, pinging diagonals the length of the park in the search for free kicks and the chance to pile into the penalty box.

Beale will find English referees less obliging, no Sunderland fans or Season Ticket holders will be allowed near their matches.

Next up is Hull City away on Tuesday, the games are coming fick and fast for Sunderlands new manager, much like managers at the Stadium of Light where Alex Neil and Mowbray were in charge last season with not many prepared to put money on Beales managing to bluff his way through this season with a Play Off place the minimum expectation. I fink.

The CAA Base Agency recently took Beale on as a project. Their reputation has been built on the success of Ange Postecoglou but could take a severe dent as Sunderland plunge down the table under one of the most exciting coaches in the English game.

  • Captain Swing says:

Billy Bealeshitter will find the sports media of the North East much less forgiving than their Glesca equivalent.

Sunderland are desperate to get back to the EPL especially with Newcastle doing fairly well, so if he takes them backwards – as yesterdays ominous start suggests – they will not miss him and hit the wall, you can be sure of that.

Taking a team used to Mowbray’s somewhat cavalier approach and trying to retune it to play the turgid ‘Bealeball’ might also be a struggle……

Tav Pen for a January transfer then ?

    Never forget

At the start of this season after Beale watching Celtic winning a treble the previous season

The Scottish media were still portraying the guy as a footballing mastermind
