With Celtic fans in full debate about who is to blame for the collapse in results this season Keith Jackson threw a new name into the mix this morning.
The Daily Record reporter is a particular favourite of the Celtic chairman, this morning Daily Record readers discovered that Ange Postecoglou is to blame for the seven disastrous summer signings that have contributed next to nothing to the team.
With three key players moving on and three out injured the summer projects have come up well short with £20m spent on transfer fees and long term contracts dished out left, right and centre.
Another disastrous transfer window in January and Peter Lawwell has a simple choice come summer.
Sack your manager or sack your son.

After two outstanding transfer windows driven by Postecoglou the downturn in recruitment started in the summer of 2022 as Mark Lawwell swapped his log-in to the City Football Group website for the Celtic transfer PIN.
In January 2023 Daddy’s return was confirmed with the quality of signings dropping further culminating in Holm, Tilio, Nawrocki, Lagerbielke, Yang, Kwon and Palma signed during the summer.
None of those players was on the park against Hearts when the SACK THE BOARD chant was heard, switching quickly to a chant aimed at both of the Lawwell’s.
With the January window opening in less than a fortnight no new signings have been confirmed.
The manager wants quality, experienced new recruits, as does Callum McGregor. On previous form Lawwell Mini will only be able to identify players who are 23 or under or brought in from Asian football.
Who is doing most damage to Celtic?
He just can't help himself
Performances are on him
Incredibly underqualified
Both lawwells are gone is the rumour!
? it true ?
But is that enough?— S Earl (@SEarl92360080) December 19, 2023
BR is not shy to walk and throw Lawell under the bus if need be. PL and DD want a legacy/Dynasty. CalMac and BR publicly stating how the board must act shows there is no trust. CalMac waving his hands trying to get crowd going shows he’s unhappy with GB situation. PL is the issue

Sack both of them now!
Regression rather than progression at pivotal moments down through the years since Peter has been around!
He’s a cancer at Celtic, rotting the club from within!

It would be tricky to sack the head of first team recruitment being he must have been the outstanding candidate for the job following a global search…

Liewell & Liewell along with Nicholson must go

The recruitment has been horrific since Mark Lawwell came in, probably a similar success rate to Lee Congerton. If we’re to move forward we need a complete change in recruitment strategy and that starts with binning Mark Lawwell.

Sack himself

In an ideal world he does both and retires again for good this time but

The manager will come good if he is backed. Get both Lawwell’s out!
— StuRam (@Sturam78) December 19, 2023
He will do neither although we all know he will put Rodgers head on a platter before his own laddie

If the Chairman of a plc is leaving, then it must be immediately announced
to the stock exchange. Nothing so far,
[only an “Issued Share Capital” statement announced today.]
Whilst I would love it! if both Lawwells are going,
I think they’re both ‘in with the bricks’ – whilst DD is still there anyway.
BR will probably be long gone before the Lawwell duo leave the premises… 🙁
I get the anger with the board but would Rodgers have beaten Hearts and Kilmarnock if the squads had been swapped. Do they have better quality than Celtic…no I didn’t think so.
Totally agree Charlie… Whilst we have went backwards since last season, the loss of Mooy, Jota & Starfelt we still have enough to be beating (or not losing to) Hearts, Killie (X2) & struggling against almost every other SPFL team… Recruitment has been cross and the Lawwells have to go but I expect better from a top level coach as well.
