Celtic Twitter goes into hiding

Celtic’s Twitter account has gone into hibernation following Saturday’s home defeat from Hearts. There wasn’t a single tweet from the club all day Sunday.

At least someone at the club knows how to read the room, taking a pause from constant prompts to give the club more money from a variety of schemes.

Saturday’s final result attracted over 1,400 comments as fans let off steam about a lifeless display with the match over and done with as soon as the second Hearts goal was scored.

Soon afterwards an interview with Brendan Rodgers was shared, and viewed more than 190,000 times as fans looked for answers over the winter collapse that has resulted in points being dropped to Hibs, Motherwell, Kilmarnock and Hearts in recent weeks alongside a feeble Champions League showing.

This week would normally see a real hard sell on a variety of Christmas gifts, with criticism of the Lawwell family hitting the levels of the 20/21 season some big decisions will have to be taken over whether further antagonising fans is worth it to keep the tills ringing in the club shops.

The optics aren’t great, are they?

A Board bans a section of its very own, paying customers,

    – but only after a very public, highly embarrassing, game of

‘Statement Ping Pong’ conducted via the SMSM.

Now we have a full stadium shouting at full voice, “Sack the Board!”,

and then telling the Chairman EXACTLY where to go.

    🙁

So, who’s at fault for this shambolic state of affairs?

Are we – the paying customers – to blame?

Is it our handsomely paid Board of Directors who are to blame?

Will anyone be held accountable for this further damage to the

    club / brand / business?

And it could get worse, before it gets better…

    • the maister says:

Yes, you the paying customers or patrons of Celtic FC are to blame. Who else?
It must be obvious to everyone, anyone now, that the plc will continue to take your patronage and run the Club in exactly the same way!
They are repeating the disaster that was the appointment of Neil Lennon, the second time, as manager.
Only a fool, who would be so easily parted from his money, can fail to see that!

  • Pan says:

Not only the Board needs cleared out but this present manager is hopeless as well. He is a total chancer who is now blaming others.

It now seems clear that Dominic Mackay was removed because he knew what he was doing and the Board were feeling threatened by this. Had Dom not been forced out I believe Ange would still be here and we would have been in a far happier place. However, Ange felt he could do no more with this Board and he had proven himself, so he moved on. He and Dominic interacted well and the Board did not like this powerful situation at all. Ergo, Dom had to go. In the world of rugby, he is universally appreciated for his professionalism, knowledge and integrity. Obviously not characteristics appreciated by Celtic.

One thing has become very clear after the weekend. The Celtic Board do not care at all for Celtic fans. They are just there to make money from. However, we have tremendous power and the time is coming to demonstrate that power again.

This could be a defining season with what is going wrong at the club. The disease has set in and will soon spread. If allowed to spread, it can kill. It needs removed – NOW!

  • John Copeland says:

Is the current situation of lack of investment in the squad ,one of the reasons why Ange departed ? If it was , then why would any guy worth his salt stick around to see the team go backwards ? The big man was always way ahead of the game ,so if and when he spoke to Lawwell regarding major funds to improve the squad for this campaign and was told that he was ‘ on a budget ‘ even with a big fat bank balance at the club , he probably thought ,woah ,that’s not what I signed up for …and bolted ! Has anybody thought about bending Ange’s ear …off the record ? A wee casual chat on the QT ! After all ,he does know where the bodies are buried …. doesn’t he ?

  • Chuck says:

Its 100% BR who is responsible for the current situation. Best squad in the league by far easily outplayed by teams with a fraction of the budget. Opponents Stategy : Play 9 at back soak up pressure, quick transition and hope for a free kick or corner to play high ball into Centre defence.

When defending opponents keep Celtic out wide and if necessary give away corners or free kicks because Celtic do nothing with them. Plus keep 4 defender around Kyogo as he is only player in the box.

Football Insanity : playing the same way game after game and expecting a different result!!!

Pocession is vanity goals are sanity !

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

I am NOT looking forward to Saturday although surely there has to be a reaction…

I’m sure Lawwell and his merry band of grey cowards aren’t looking forward to it either –

Hopefully there actually won’t be a reaction to these charlatans…

    As that’d mean we’d have a convincing win –

Which we bloody well badly need…

As anything else and The League is gone !

  • JAMES W MCALLISTER says:

Complacency as usual..that board are stuck in the past just like the ones that were there when mcann saved us..only interested in profit and not making us stronger it’s a joke and Rodgers is like a broken record he’s a nodding dog ???
