Four weeks before the transfer window opens Philippe Clement had a special hug for Lawrence Shankland after his side lost 1-0 at Tynecastle last night.

While his team-mates were given a staunch handshake by the former Monaco boss the Hearts skipper was given something a little more personal.

According to the Daily Record the hug was due to Shankland spending a season in Belgium where he was a fish out of water with just five goals from 26 matches for Beerschot.

Over in the fantasy island of fan media Shankland is the number one transfer target for Ibrox fans with many happy to drive Cyriel Dessers and Sam Lammers to Tynecastle in exchange.

Unfortunately Hearts won’t be paying out Serie A wages anytime soon or shifting their top scorer on the cheap.

Back in January 2022 the Ibrox Tribute Act signed John Souttar on a pre-contract deal but Hearts refused to cave in to a pitiful transfer fee, held on to the defender for five months before he shifted his medical record to Ibrox.

Lol at an article in the daily sevco today screaming for Morelos to come to ibrox after his Brazilian team hot relegated.
In the space of 2 days that’s the Sumo wrestler and the duffer Kent mentioned with a return to ibrox after ther FAILURES at different clubs after leaving ibrox.
Oh how we want to them return just to add to the BANTER YEARS.

As for Wankland and that special hug,let him go there as all sevco are doing is taking Hearts away as a threat to sevco for second place.

In a week where they are saying they need to cut more than £10 million from their costs, press and bears want to add somewhere around £5 million to the wage bill

Quick scan of the Record Twitter page

You would think we scraped a 1-0 win and they’d won 4-1

How come the press are obsessed with Aberdeens record against us

But never mention Hearts record against them
