According to The Sun Celtic are ‘weighing up’ a move for Bojan Miovski of Aberdeen.

The striker has been a stand-out at Pittodrie since being signed from MTK Budapest in the summer of 2022 and provided a constant flow of domestic goals.

With three forwards expected to be involved in the Asian Cup which runs into early January Brendan Rodgers has an urgent need for strikers with the currently injured Liel Abada the only alternative currently at the club.

The report in The Sun comes from Colin Duncan who isn’t normally in the know for Celtic transfer stories, at that newspaper transfer news from Derek McGregor and David Friel carry more weight.

Late on Tuesday night The Sun reported:

CELTIC are weighing up a January move for Aberdeen’s top scorer Bojan Miovski.

Brendan Rodgers has had the North Macedonia star watched in every domestic game this season.

But the Premiership leaders will have to stump up a record sum to land the striker from Pittodrie.

SunSport understands Dons will demand the highest-ever fee between two Scottish clubs.

They value Miovski, 24, at more than the £4.4million Celts paid Hibs for Scott Brown in 2007.

And while they accept Miovski will leave the Dons eventually, they are reluctant to lose him when the window opens.

Scottish clubs are rarely easy to deal with in transfers, during Rodgers’ first time in charge of Celtic bids were rejected for Scott McKenna who was sold for significantly less to Nottingham Forest.

Miovski appears affordable within the Celtic model, with the transfer window opening in four weeks time supporters are looking for ready made players like the Dons forward rather than long term projects.
