One month on from overlooking an X-rated challenge on Yang Hyun-jun by Ross County’s James Brown, David Munro will referee Celtic’s trip to Kilmarnock on Sunday.

Ten minutes into the match on November 4 the County defender went over the ball on the Celtic winger, striking him on the shin.

Munro was perfectly placed to view the foul and reached for a yellow card before Andrew Dallas on VAR intervened, suggesting a look at the monitor after which the yellow card was upgraded to a red.

Celtic went on to win the game 3-0 but a number of shirt pulling incidents were missed as well as an early ‘goal’ from Liam Scales disallowed for what most pundits agreed was minimal physical contact.

Since that match Munro has only been in charge of two matches, on Sunday the Sky Sports cameras will be present with Greg Aitken helping out on VAR.

Celtic and Kilmarnock have already played each other twice this season with the hoops losing 1-0 in the League Cup in August then winning 3-1 at home at the start of October. John Beaton will referee Wednesday’s match at home to Hibs.
