Kris Boyd’s fun guy, cheeky chappy persona dropped last light as he watched the Europa League tie from Ibrox for Sky Sports News.

After two weeks moaning about Aberdeen trying too hard against his club the former Ibrox star had a straightforward European tie to enjoy rather than getting verbally slapped around by Chris Sutton.

With Sparta Prague beating Real Betis in the early kick-off a win against the ARIS Limassol would guarantee a place in the knock-out stage of the Europa League.

Twenty minutes into the action at Ibrox Sky Sports News put Boyd on the spot, an update from Ibrox where he was drooling over a shot at goal from John Lundstram before the visitors broke up the park.

Compared to his Sky Sports colleagues Boyd is a Europa Conference pundit, barely able to describe what he is watching let alone provide some proper analysis.

This morning Clement doesn’t have the Aberdeen excuse of opponents trying too hard, later today Boyd will have a column published in The Sun, a preview of Scotland’s European Championship draw gives him an easy opt out from the painful truth.

God knows how idiots like Boyd get jobs commentating on TV he has been shown up as useless so many times by himself with his comments and other proper commentators who think he’s a waste of space. Time for him to go I can’t watch him on TV if he is on I will watch the game elsewhere

Speaking of dud commentary . BBC Sportsound had Mac Intyre , Lament , Thompson ,Miller and Lewis plus an enormous production unit at Ibrox land last night to cover a game ….on the radio ! Over on billionaire BT owned TNT sport , there was Rory Hamilton and Super Swally in the talk box with a snowman and snow woman on the pitch side with sad , cold faces . The boat was pushed out by the national broadcaster with our money for commentary only on the Rangers failure at coping with a Cypriot side who probably have never encountered frost before !

Editor: The overstaffing on BBC is an outrage, television can cover a match with half the number used by BBC, with not a lick of paint between the opinions of the Zombie cheerleaders.
