After yesterday’s 2-0 home defeat to Hearts Brendan Rodgers decided to leave a post-match debriefing to Callum McGregor.

The midfielder presently has a multitude of roles at the club, outlining expectations and demands isn’t unusual for someone who has been at the centre of the most successful domestic period in Scottish football.

What was telling about yesterday’s debriefing was how Rodgers slipped past it, taking a brief look then continuing on to a sea of green seats with only a few thousand fans left inside the stadium.

He could have taken a step back and observed the reactions of team-mates to the message from their captain, instead it all seemed awkward as the manager looked the other way.

After back-to-back defeats Celtic face a week of criticism and analysis before Saturday’s home match against Livingston in front of an increasingly concerned and frustrated home audience.

There is likely to be very little comment coming out from inside the club but that will only intensify the online debates and speculation over how a squad of Treble Winners could go downhill so fast despite the apparent appointment of an elite level manager.

Roy’s a dud no better than Beale and sevco sacked him for less.

  • Scud Missile says:

Watch for the photographic headline of a broken crest /badge its a cert any flack from auld Spew today or Jackass Jackson we will deserve it and more.

  • harold shand says:

If Livingston who are bottom of the league and have lost seven of their last 8 games leave with any points next Saturday

He should be sacked on Saturday night

    • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

I think sadly the atmosphere at Parkhead will be toxic beyond toxic on Saturday Harold…

And Fcuk it – Lawwell and these yellow spineless bar stewards in grey suits can take every insult coming their way –

And Brendan for his lack of managerial skills this season as well for that matter !

  • Frankie says:

There are definitely some strange goings on at the top, him coming out and saying this result was coming we all know that a team does not drop to these useless standards in a few months, kyogo will not put the ball in the net with no supply, Palma been here only a few months and seems to think everything will be run through him, if there is unrest at higher level with no clue to the way forward come out and say it and that includes the back room staff, manager, and captain. I said along time ago this was the biggest season ever as regards champions league and it is all crumbling round us look at the other lot no money, bare to the bones , but are still producing 8 points clear where are we now.

    • Jackson says:

Have to agree Frankie on Palma…..not impressed at all with him in any game, he hides
can’t tackle and it would seem i am not the only fan who thinks this about him… a very selfish player and no wonder he was hooked…..to put on Bernabie is all you need to know about the Honduran.

  • Rob O’Keeffe says:

I think the look from Liam towards what Rodgers was doing tells the story #dressingroomlost

  • Bob (original) says:

Well, if BR has actually lost the dressing room, then all the players have to do

is repeat their performance against Livi. The Board will have no choice?

The fact that BR could not get a reaction from his players in the

second half was there for all to see: the players have switched off.

IF, however, the players put in a storming performance and bang in

5 or 6 goals against Livi, then there is hope we can get past this low.

…but we still have a full working week for our tone-deaf Board

to do something daft – and unwittingly upset the paying punters even more.

    🙁

  • Eamonn Little says:

Losing Starfelt,Giakamakous,Jota,Mooy, from last season along with long term injuries to Hatate and Abada, has ripped the guts out of the all conquering team of Ange no doubt about that.Having said that the replacements nowhere near good enough.BR also looks like he’s already fed up.Im dreading the next few weeks.More project signings in January too I fear.

  • Sean McGinley says:

Modern footballers ???? brought up soft and don’t like being told off. BR made a fatal error in the modern game.

He said that he gave out to them. Boo Hoo, they’ll all be running back tae their mammies. The day of being a Fergie, Stein or Shankly are gone !

They wouldn’t survive with the huffy little, overpaid, over-rated, primadonnas !

Biggest issue is that it is encouraged in training, with their performance arts coaching ! Watch the faces in the video if you don’t think so. Speaks volumes.

  • John S says:

When read in black & white the manager’s comments are correct, however, has anyone, including the players, been inspired by his enthusiasm ?

  • Davie says:

Rodgers will be sacked as he will not leave, his pockets will get another golden pay off for being rubbish at his job.
Lawell is under the same banner.
Rodgers has taken this team backwards, same as he did first time round.
Who is going to get hurt with demonstrations before these two have no more to do with the club ????
