Celtic’s hierarchy, including Brendan Rodgers, held a lunch yesterday that was attended by a number of shareholders, sponsors and hospitality big hitters.

Willie Hughey was present but Chairman Peter Lawwell missed out as he is enjoying a sunshine holiday.

Festive lunches are the norm at this time of year but looking through the guest list it would be a surprise if current events at the club weren’t discussed. With vital matches coming up Rodgers wouldn’t want to be spending time away from the training ground.

Back-to-back defeats in the SPFL, an early exit from the League Cup and another disappointing Champions League campaign salvaged by a Matchday Six win over Feyenoord have raised concerns among fans who haven’t witnessed three wins on the bounce this season.

The departures of Jota, Carl Starfelt and Aaron Mooy has been a big loss with Luis Palma the only one of seven summer signings to have made a positive impact.

Almost certainly Celtic will have to win their next three matches to go into the new year on top of the SPFL.

Attention is on Recruitment chief Mark Lawwell to deliver the quality and experience that Brendan Rodgers has been calling out for at his recent media conferences.

Go and talk to Iscos agent at Real Betis his 1year contract runs out in the summer he is 31 and on a salary of £43k a week . He is a quality experienced player who ran the show v Rangers and just the type to revitalise Kyogo with his forward passing ability. We should also try to bring back Tierney on loan with an option to sign and possibly Miovski at Aberdeen !
