Ridvan Yilmaz is in talks to join Hellas Verona on loan while the Italian club pick up a £4.3m fee from Marseilles for Josh Doig.
The former Besiktas defender has started 10 domestic matches this season but was left out of the European squads by Micky Beale.
It appears to be a hasty move from Philippe Clement to reduce the wage bill by agreeing to an initial loan deal with the Italian side who are clearly not short of money.
Earlier this week Sam Lammers, billed as the Dutch Brian Laudrup during the summer of hype, joined Utrecht on loan just six months after a fee of £3.5m was paid to Atalanta.
? Celtic are in advanced talks over a deal worth just under £3m for Rapid Vienna winger Nicolas Kuhn.
? Verona are closing in on a move for Rangers’ Ridvan Yilmaz on loan, according to Sky Italy, with Josh Doig of interest to the Ibrox club.

After recording a loss of £4.1m for last season despite reaching the Champions League and selling Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey it seems that there is a belated clampdown on the bloated Ibrox wage bill.
Borna Barisic, John Lundstram, Ryan Jack, Kemar Roofe and Leon Balogun are all out of contract in May with no meaningful negotiations reported to get them on longer term deals.
Our colleagues at @SkySport are reporting that Marseille are closing in on the signing of Hellas Verona left-back Josh Doig.
They have made a bid of £4.3m to the Serie A club and will offer a contract until 2028. https://t.co/nXJZ0seByU

Suppose any reported – and alleged – interest in Doig from sevco,
came to an abrupt halt when money was mentioned?
