McGowan’s throw away as he claims Celtic would block out John Beaton

In a strange, roundabout way of trying to appear even handed Stephen McGowan has suggested that Celtic might request that John Beaton is no longer allowed to referee matches involving the hoops.

The Lanarkshire based official has a long track record of making bizarre decisions in matches involving Celtic, last January he was in charge of the Glasgow Derby in which Fashion Sakala won a penalty for his side while a double handball from Connor Goldson at the other end of the park was ignored.

Losing to Celtic last weekend has triggered some incredible reactions including claims against the match officials, taking things further it was made public that a request was put in to the SFA to exclude Willie Collum from future matches involving the Ibrox club.

Covering the havoc being generated from Ibrox this week in his Daily Mail column, McGowan writes:

Allowing  Rangers to veto referees would open a can of worms. There would be nothing to stop Celtic demanding their own block on, say, John Beaton. Hearts could lock Alan Muir out of Tynecastle because he doled out a ridiculous booking to Alan Forrest last weekend. It’s a recipe for anarchy.

It seems that some people can’t write about one Glasgow club without dragging the other into the scene.

Beaton has a long history of strange decisions in Celtic matches, most notably at Ibrox in December 2018 when Alfredo Morelos appeared to have immunity from punishment for attacks on Ryan Christie, Scott Brown and Tony Ralston.

Five days after the match Celtic issued a statement calling for explanations of the decisions to be made public, afterwards there was no follow up from Peter Lawwell.

Since that request from Celtic Beaton has refereed two Scottish Cup Finals which is generally a reward from the SFA for the best referee of the season.

If celtic complainèd about officials then sorry we wouldn’t have a official to ref our games because Dallas..Muir..Robertson..Walsh..McClean..Dickinson..Munro..and a few others who have gave wrong decisions against celtic and i would say they officials are all for The Ranjurs 2012 so the corrupt sfa.spfl have a big problem now through their new club who they brought back from the dead and made up the 5WAY AGREEMENT and kid on they were still the same club because C..GREEN said he bought the history of oldco ranjurs which no football fans around the world has ever heard of a football club getting liquidated there CVA was refused means everything goes but in masonic scotland they make up there own rules to suit the team at liebrox i would love to see the 5way agreement they made up and see what.clubs chairman signed it and i bet all Scottish football fans would be the same eh…SCOTTISH FOOTBALL FOOTBALL CORRUPT FOR ONE CLUB ONLY WHO PLAY IN BLUE AT CHEATING LIEBROX…

John McGhee, I’ve got a copy of it unsigned (draft 6, I think), but it may NEVER have been signed by anyone. It was sent out as an email attachment from the SFA on Thursday 26th July around 9 PM and said if no dissenters came forward by 10AM the next day it would be actioned. Just take a second to absorb that……9PM until 10AM the next day. Businesslike???? It’s all been agreed by meetings/phone calls whatever in advance of the email.

Further, if it HAS never been signed it’s a lot harder, if the doc is ever exposed, to prove someone’s involvement when there are no signatures. They’re not as daft as we may think, just sneaky, feral, masonic baztards.

Both Peter Lawwell and Eric Riley were among those it was sent to.

      Hopefully the truth will out.

Also, within the doc is an offer to split the prize money due to Rangers FC (IA) for 2nd prize in the SPL again 🙂 between the other Premier league clubs. If this was done then shareholder’s of Rangers FC now (IL) were cheated by all involved and that is fraud and I hope it comes out and all of them, especially Peter fukkin Lawwell get prosecuted for it. That’s ONE way to remove that snake permanently.

BTW, the reason for the panic over getting it agreed was to facilitate Sevco Scotland Limited (calling itself Rangers) being able to play Brechin on Sunday 29th July and commence the same club myth.

NB: Sevco Scotland Limited’s name was then changed to The Rangers Football Club Limited on Tuesday 31st July 2012.

      Green only bought the assets.
History of Rangers ended summer 2012.
      History belongs to Dead club.
I describe it as the following.

Elvis is dead, like The Rangers I can change my name to Elvis.
      I can buy his home.
I can wear his old clothes.
I can display his records left behind.
I can try singing his songs.
At any time does that make me Elvis NO.
THE RANGERS are just impersonators wishing to be Rangers.
The only way for Rangers to return is to come out of Liquidation, pay back all the money they owe.
      Green bought a stadium.
He bought the old clubs jerseys.
They sing same type of dire songs.
They have same type of misled fans.
Does that make them Rangers NO.
      ONLY IMPERSONATORS.

  • Tony B says:

Beaton et al have in my opinion toned it down a bit recently, leaving it to their bretheren in the VAR room, Dallas et al, to take up the slack.

This needs to be included in any scrutinising that takes place.

    The

would be Partick Thistle, of course!

  • John mcconville says:

After celtic intervened ,Beaton has behaved himself

Editor: Did you see the recent St Mirren home match? Kyogo booked for being fouled then wiped out at a corner at the edge of the box wih Beaton deciding not to notice?

  • Davie says:

Can we move away from being the same as The Rangers.
We play football, that’s where matches are won, every team in every league could ask for specific official to be banned.
What will happen next is officials refusing to attend certain teams, we will end up with no officials to do a job, so where do we go from there.
Stop any potential Paranoia dead, I have no desire to ever behave like The Rangers, officials on the pitch are human, officials behind VAR are inconsistent, however the rules or their interpretation are changed to often.
Is it hand ball or not, anything below shoulder level should be hand ball to simplify the rule.
Is it offside or not, to make football more attacking, every part of attacking player should be clear of last defender before your offside, attacker has to have the advantage to give us more goal opportunities.
Simple rules will help players and officials.
The witch hunt on officials has to stop.

  • TicToc says:

Davie, I agree with your view on offside, daylight between attacker and last defender (not including ‘keeper) with any doubt favouring the attacker. Simple and (should be) effective.
Handball already includes everything below the shoulder but the intention of the rule was always to stop you PLAYING the ball with hand/arm NOT being hit with it and that must be the defining point. To concede a penalty for being STRUCK by the ball is just farce as your arms HAVE to be part of you. That will always be up to ref/VAR to decide but it’s normally pretty clear whether you’ve been STRUCK by the ball or are trying to gain advantage by PLAYING the ball.
Just a simple, honest, entertaining sport decided by who scores the most goals in a game. I think that’s what all/most Tims want but most (not all) huns have a different view: win at any cost and cheating is fine as long as it favours any shower out of Ibrox. It’s in their DNA now and very hard to shift but consistent honesty by officials would kick-start that process. The REAL problem, as in most things in life, is MONEY or the lack thereof. Just how I see it.
